Aunt Gail's Oatmeal Lace Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2012
This recipe is lovely just like it is. I did not make any substitutions. I did use non-stick foil sprayed with butter Crisco and put 6 on the cookie sheet at a time, baked 10 min. Worked perfect, no problems removing the cookies. I let them set a couple of minutes after coming out of the oven. I used a paper towel to wipe off the foil, sprayed it again and it worked for the whole batch. I think these are the best oatmeal cookies I have ever made. Very crisp, light and airy.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
This pie rocks! I did not do the lattice top but poured the syrup mixture over the apples, saved a little for the top and brushed it on as soon as I put the top on. I used a glass 9.5 inch pie plate and cooking apples which were smaller so I used enough to fill the dough. We will definitely make this recipe again, the cooked mixture really makes a difference!

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
This pie is great! I use raw sugar instead of white sugar. My mixture has yet to be thin but I am probably using more sweet potatoes (2 large ones) since I'm filling a 9.5 inch pan. I added 3/4 cup milk to thin it a bit but it was still thick. I cook and peel the sweet potatoes the night before, store them in the fridge, to save prep time. Enjoy!

Pork Chops in Beer

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2006
Very scrumptious! I used less ketchup & brown sugar and about 3/4 can of cheap beer. I also used a very cheap cut of pork loin chops and added a bit of Worceshire. Very good with some homemade potatoe rolls, baked beans, and scalloped potatoes.

Slow Cooker Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2006
This was wonderful. I used 6 large pork loin chops (really cheap pork) cut in half and even more potatoes than what the recipe called for. I put the pork in my large crockpot with the soup and used beef broth instead of water. Cooked on low for 4 hours and then added the potatoes and cooked another 2 hours, added the green beans and cooked another hour. It was well done and the pork was so tender. Lots of leftovers which I think I'll used to make a pork vegetable stew with. Such an easy one pot recipe! I always spray my crockpot with cooking spray so cleanup is a breeze.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
This was terrific! I was starting to prepare tilapia with just the Old Bay seasoning and checked to see how long to broil it, found this recipe, and made it! Absolutely fabulous, I used fat free parmesan, light butter, and fat free mayo. I think you could reduce the butter a bit. I put it over a bed of rice, with a side of steamed broccoli and we had a healthy low-cal meal.

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2005
This bread is wonderful! I made it just like the recipe says and had no problems with it. It made a really big loaf, so full and pretty and absolutely delicious! It is our new "fav" recipe. I am going to try it with molasses and Enova oil next time.
