This buttercream frosting is awesome! I followed another reviewer's suggestion. I used 1/2 shortening, 1/2 butter and 5 cups of powdered sugar. This produces a nice consistency to ice your cake. If you want it to be stiffer then add every 1/2 cup of sugar or so. Pay attention. It turned out wonderful. It was very easy to ice my entire cake. The whipping cream helps to tone down the sweetness of the buttercream.
