Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
I found the almond extract very overpowering in this recipe so I would half it next time. Also it was very sweet so I would at least half the sugar as well. I guess it all depends on how sweet your blueberries are. It was very easy to make, however.

Chocolate Mousse and Raspberries

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
I must admit, I was a little leary on trying a recipe that had no reviews to-date. However, my husband wanted a recipe for chocolate mousse that was easy and quick to make and something HE could do! The end result -- our guests loved it! Not only was it easy, it was delicious .. we would definitely make it again and again!

Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
Found the dough extremely dry and crumbly and the cookies when made even more so (very dry .. you needed something to drink to eat them!). I'll have to try to add significantly more butter next time.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2006
This recipe turned out amazing. We drank some the first night we made it but in the morning after it sat is was even more amazing! We did make some changes as suggested by others as follows for the 12 serving recipe: We used 8 egg yolks instead of 12, we used 2 large cinnamon sticks instead of ground and didn't discard them until we put the entire batch into the fridge overnight, we used used 1 tsp rum extract (probably will try 2 tsp next time. My husband just added rum to his individual cup and that was good too. We cut down the sugar to about 1 1/4 cups. We didn't use a double-boiler as some did as we have a high-quality non-stick pot which did not burn or scald the milk. We are going to make a double batch for Christmas.

We made this recipe for Thanksgiving and at the end of dinner I had people asking me for the recipe -- you won't be disappointed!

Blueberry Nut Oat Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2006
We didn't have the egg substitute so used one egg instead. Sprinkled a bit of brown sugar on top as we were out of granola and used whole wheat flour instead of white. We also didn't have any pecans. These muffins are GREAT! My three boys were disappointed that I had cut the recipe in half and only made 6 .. next time I'll know to make the full 12!

Meatloaf on the Grill

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2004
I found this VERY bland. My husband liked it though, but he smothered it in hot sauce and mustard. It needs other spices added to it, perhaps salt and pepper and some other flavorings.

Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2004
This was definitely a HIT in our house! I used chicken thighs as they were much cheaper and also added some fresh mushrooms to the skillet near the end of cooking.

Sweet Potato Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2003
This was amazing! Everyone thought it was a hit! The hint of orange is what I think makes it so great. I only used 1/4 of the white sugar it called for and everyone said it would have been too sweet if I had used the amount of sugar the recipe calls for. Try using 1/8 cup of sugar instead of the stated 1/2 cup and see what you think.

Updated Mulled Cider

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2003
I really liked this recipe, however I tried the suggestion of adding the tablespoon of cinnamon. I wouldn't do that again as it made the cider rather chalky .. I think I would just add a few more cinnamon sticks to add more cinnamon flavor.

Kabob Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2003
Scrumptious! We used this marinade with skewers of tomato, onion, zucchini, red peppers, green peppers and mushrooms and basted it every 1/2 hour over a 3 hour period and then bbq'd them. The taste was incredible! (Didn't use any MSG)

Hearty Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2003
I absolutely loved this recipe! We had some unexpected guests arrive while I was making this the first time, so I was a bit nervous as to how it would turn out. It was a big hit! I had read the reviews before making this so I had added about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of milk as suggested. I think it would have been way too dry without it. I will definitely make it in the future ... and probably make a few at a time so I can have some handy in the freezer for those days when you just don't don't have time to cook!

Authentic Huevos Rancheros

We thoroughly enjoyed this recipe. It does take a bit of time to prepare (making the bacon, etc.) but it is delicious. We used it for dinner instead of breakfast/brunch.

Easy Masoor Daal

Reviewed: May 15, 2003
Found it very tasty .. I am a nursing mother, however, so next time I think I will cut down on the cayenne pepper! It was a bit too much spice for the baby. Definitely a wonderful addition to any meal and good for you!!!

English Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2002
Wonderful tasting! The only thing I would note is to divide it into more than 12 tart shells as it tends to be too full and boils over. Perhaps 13 or 14 tart shells.
