Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
I made this for a church group and got rave reviews, and many recipe requests. I agreed with other reviewers that it was very salty, if you can use any low sodium ingredients do so. To the reviewer whose results were soupy, I wonder if you might have used ready to serve, rather than condensed soup. Thanks for sharing this recipe! This is an addition to my original review. I recently made this again, I omitted the Parmesan cheese, instead topping it with an additional handful of cheddar. This eliminated the salt problem! Wonderful stuff, try it you will be pleased!

Coconut Sour Cream Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
I made this to take to a family function and everyone really liked it. I split the layers using dental floss, that worked really well. Also when filling between the layers keep in mind that you can use 1/3 of the sour cream mixture, I was thinking 1/4 and ended up with too much at the end as the cool whip mixture takes care of the top. I used light sour cream & light cool whip with good results, I agree with a previous reviewer that white cake mix is a must. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Lemon Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
I made this exactly as written. The batter was very thick. The texture of the finished cake was really spongy, I love lemon, but this had a strange artifical taste. I used Duncan Hines cake mix and Musselmans pie filling. The frosting as written is not nearly enough if baked in the pan size given in the recipe. Sorry : (

Banana-Nut Chip Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
I liked that this recipe had oats in it, & oil instead of butter. I replaced 1/2 cup of flour with 1/4 cup of oat bran & 1/4 cup of wheat germ. I used 3 small-medium sized bananas and omitted the nuts {some in my household won't eat them} Next time I will make one loaf with nuts and one without. I REALLY liked this recipe! It is a little bit healthier than my usual banana recipe, plus we loved the moist chewy texture. Thanks for the recipe!

Autumn Apple Salad II

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
Tasted great as written, made it a second time with red apples, pomegrante seeds instead of cranberries and cherries & I added a bit of lemon juice and sour cream. Just wonderful stuff, I am going to serve this the next time I make pork chops. Thanks for a great recipe!

Marcia's Company Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
This is creamy delicious stuff when made according to the recipe. I have been making this for years. It is high in fat, but it is easy and inexpensive, and it is true, Men do love it! I suggest to everyone that you make it as written. I too wanted to doctor up the tomato sauce, but when you do that you loose the lovely green onion flavour that should be the star in this recipe. I also use real butter, and omit the green peppers. Try it!

Caramel Nut Crunch

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
I had some honey nut cheerios I needed to use up so I did an ingredient search and found this recipe. I really liked it! I did make some modifications to suit what I had on hand. I used 5 cups of cereal and 1 1/2 cups of peanuts, and made the sugar mixture as recommended. It would be great with the extra nuts and I will try it that way next time. I have a convection oven and 30 minutes was probably 5 minutes too long, my error. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe! It is going in the kids lunches tomorrow.

Taco Salad III

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
Really really good, I used only kidney beans, Doritos instead of corn chips, & just about 1/2 cup (4 ounces) of Catalina dressing, I tried another recipe in the past that used a whole bottle of Catalina and it was WAY too sweet. Nice to be able to add beans to a dish and still have everyone enjoy it. Thanks for posting the recipe!

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
Really easy and really good. Even kids who aren't sure about seafood enjoyed it. I used a little more garlic and reduced fat cream cheese, also milk instead of water. I think double the sauce with 12 ounces of pasta would be have been ideal. Thanks for the recipe, it is a keeper!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
I didn't use the sauce recipe, only the meatball. I modified it to serve 100 for a boys summer camp. I baked the meatballs because I was working with such a large amount, when I tasted one after baking them I was unimpressed, but when I put them into the sauce...WOW! I received many compliments! Thanks for sharing a great & easy recipe!

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
Easy and liked by all 6 who ate it! I used 2 lbs of meat, 2 cans of soup, one chopped spanish onion, 1 cup of milk, the whole 32 ounce bag of tater tots, and 3 cups shredded cheese. It fit just right in a 13x9 pan. I mixed 1/2 of the soup mixture with the meat and poured the other 1/2 over the tater tots and topped it with the cheese. Thanks for posting the recipe!

Brunch Enchiladas

This was an easy recipe and came out great. A good way to use up the scraps left from a whole ham. I really liked that you can do all the work the night before. I took it to a church group,it was all gone. Thanks for a great recipe!

Best Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2014
We just finished eating this, I cut the celery salt in half and used 1 tsp garlic powder instead of the garlic salt. It was plenty salty. I used 3/4 cup sour cream and 1/4 butter and that was enough. I liked it my husband REALLY liked it. I will cut the sour cream mixture in half next time to save more calories. FYI with using 3/4 cup sour cream and 1/4 butter the calorie count was 293 per serving of one chicken breast half.

Garden Club Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2014
I didn't read the frosting directions adequately before proceeding, it call for 2 cups of whipped topping...not a full container of cool whip! Fools rush in :) Still tastes great, I added a drop of green food coloring and topped it with chopped pistachios.

Chicken Continental

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
This was what I have been looking for. Similar baked versions I have tried have baked unevenly and the chicken was always too dry. I used a scant cup of regular rice, seasoned my sliced chicken breasts with and herb and onion blend before browning them at high heat, after adding the other ingredients I simmered it all for 20 minutes lid on stirring once, then let it sit (it looked a bit soupy at this point) lid off for 10 minutes off the heat. It turned out creamy and really much better than I hoped. I was afraid the chicken would be overcooked, but it wasn't!

Happy Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
Yum! I subbed olive oil for the butter & 1/2 & 1/2 for the cream. I am sure the sauce would have been silkier with those original ingredients, but once you mix in the pasta, it is all good! 4 ounces of angel hair was the perfect amount of pasta. Thanks for posting the recipe.
