White Sangria

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
I make this all summer but with the following changes, double the schnapps, no cognac, add frozen peaches, mango's and strawberries. Skip the oranges. I use pino grigio

Fresh Pear Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
This was very good. I used three cans of pears as fresh are not in season right now. I drained them for about 20 mintes. As others suggested I cut the sugar to 1 1.2 cups and cut the spices in 1/2, which I was glad I did, as they added just enough flavor without overpowering it. I left out the pecans as I am not a "nut" person.

This was good but mine did not come out crunchy at all. I did as other suggested and put the fish on a cooling rack. I had no Thyme but I did use italian bread crumbs

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
Although the cookies were delicious, the dough was very dry and crumbly, I had to roll them. They came out cake like (they did not flatten out).

I have been making these for years and are family favorite. Tastes just like or better than the thin mint girl scout cookies!!

You really need to double the filling in order to make a whole cheesecake, mine was very thin but tasted good.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2007
I have never eaten nor made talapia before and this was easy and so good. I did saute the garlic in the butter first. I poured the lemon on before i sauted the garlic so it had time to sink into the fish. Then I drizzled the garlic butter on and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then I spinkled a little salt, pepper, parsley and parmesan cheese on and baked!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
This was good but now that I have made it once I know what I need to do to make it great. I doubled the recipe but had only package of onion soup mix and I'm glad because the onion flavor was strong as it was. Next time I will skip the onion soup mix and use some spices instead and add more steak sauce....

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
Made this last night doubled the recipe. It was great ut next time I'm going to triple the mushroom soup. The stuffing sprinkled on top really made the meal... Served it over white rice. Tip-boil the chicken in chicken broth and spices to give it more flavor..

Chocolate Trifle

This was great, I used dark choclate pudding. I used brownie bites and rizzled with carmel, then added pudding, I then topped with chopped strawberries and bananas and then whip cream. On the very top I added more strawberries and the grated chocolate.

Berry Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
This was so easy and tasted great! The only problem is pudding doesn't come in 5 oz boxes. I used cheesecake pudding and also used 4 berries, raspberries, strawberries, blueberies and blackberries.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
The taste was great but there was way to much dressing for the amount of coldeslaw. I had to drain some off. Next time I'll cut the dressing ingrediants in half or add another bag of slaw.

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
This was okay, very messy to serve. I think maybe it should be frozen instead of refridgerated.

Stuffed Shells III

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
I made these last night and was kind of disappointed. They weren't bad just bland. Instead of parmesan cheese I used a 6 cheese mix, left out the salt as others advised and added garlic and onion powder. I think next time I'll add some osrt of meat, either hamburg or sausage, maybe that will give some extra flavor. The husband and kids loved them, I made 2 pans one with mushrooms and one without.

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
I made this for a party and even though they said it was strong, they loved it. I used w=Woodbridge merlot and plain rum as I had forgot to pick up the spicd rum. I made a double batch and only used 1 cup of rum. I used orange-pinapple juice. I will make this again with the blackberry merlot and spiced rum
