Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
Love apple pies and always trying new ones. I made this in a rectangular pan, (9x13) I think. I made a few adjustments based on past experience. I added vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Yummy!!

Basic Biscuits

Delicious and simple to make. Woke up early Saturday morning with a serious craving for homemade biscuits. These were simple and ready to eat within 30 minutes. Yum. BTW, I used my ninja mixer, dough setting.

Made this using califlower ( didn't have any broccoli) and additionally I sprinkled french fried onions on top of the breadcrumbs. Was very delicious.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
This was so good. I took a shortcut (based on time constraints and not having the proper pan), I used a prepared cookie crust. Lessened the cream cheese blocks to two, eggs to two. Followed every thing else. Lots of rave reviews for one of many Thanksgiving desserts. Will make again, when my springform pan arrives.

Sausage Corn Bread Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
Yummy, but made a few changes. I used ground turkey breakfast sausage, added fennel seeds, seasoning salt, fresh cut celery and sweet onions. Served for Thanksgiving and received many compliments

Cheesy Creamed Spinach

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
I followed the recipe, except I used frozen spinach. I personally thought it was delicious. I served it for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, it was passed over because everyone thought it was a dip, but of course it's not. It's a side dish.

Eggplant Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
Tried this recipe because I wanted to use up some egg plants a friend of mine gave me. I followed the recipe with the exception of the green peppers (didn't have any on hand). It was okay--not a lot of taste;a little bland. Seemed like it was missing some "oomp".

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

This was as good as what you'd get in restaurants. Very delicious. I will definitely make this one of my "go to" receipes. Simple, yet good enough for company.

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

PERFECT!!! Will definitely make over and over, and over. I used this on a red velvet cake. I'd like to use some on a spice cake, carrot cake and maybe some banana bread/cake.

Millie Pasquinelli's Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
This was very moist, tender and juicy. I followed the recipe but scaled it down to six pieces. I'm a Southern girl and I do love "fried" chicken. This is one of three recipes that I've found on this site and really love. This is the simpliest of the three. I will definitely make this again and again.

On a hot summer day...this was heavenly. I made a down-sized version and used toffee bits and caramel sauce. Simple and delicious. Gotta try this one, it will not disappoint.

Fluffy Biscuits

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
WOW....I've tried lots of biscuit recipes, but these by far are the best. I did make one change, based on other recommendations. I used cold, real butter. I made these this morning and me and my son both ate two. Out go the other recipes; this will be my "new" go-to biscuit recipe. Thanks Nancy for a phenomenal recipe.

Savory Chicken Breasts

I'm always trying new chicken recipes. This was pretty good. However, I added some spanish Sazon Goya seasoning, which is why my version has an orange color to it. Delicious as prepared.

Mom's Best Waffles

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
OMGoodness, these are great. I halved the recipe and added a teaspoon more sugar. I quickly whipped these up this morning; a weekday. They were so good & way simple. They easily blow any box mix outta the water. I will try freezing them for a guaranteed tasty-quick breakfasts And next time, I'll add cinnamon and vanila just to follow some of the suggestions of other reviews.
