Royal Icing III

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
Great Recipe for a perfect Royal Icing!!! It dried nice and hard--I made a crown out of the icing... make a pattern- Tape it onto a coffee can, tape wax paper on top of that, then trace the pattern on the wax paper with this royal icing, let dry--repeat 2 more times, then let dry overnight. Carefully remove the waxpaper from can and peel off of the icing VOILA!!! Will be a great topper on a cake!!! Thanks a lot Veronica!!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
mmmmm..... this cake is dangerous!!!! After I finished my first slice, I wanted to sit with the whole cake in front of me and eat it all by myself!!!!lol!!! This is a very simple cake that comes out perfect! I used what I had in my pantry- German Chocolate cake mix and only 1 cup of chocolate chips.. otherwise I follow the reciepe to the T. I served it with a berry sauce on top (YUM) 2 cups chopped berries(I used strawberries but I think next time I'll try raspberries!!!) 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup water, 1 Tbl lemon juice, and 1 tsp cornstarch~~ Combine water, lemon juice, cornstarch and sugar in pot over medium heat. Stir well to dissolve cornstarch, then add fruit. Simmer for 5-10 minutes. This sauce really complements this cake. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!!! Can't wait to make it again!!

Broccoli Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
This was really good! It is a great, simple recipe that my 7 and 3 year old LOVE! I did saute the onions in a little butter and added a little garlic, crushed red pepper, parsley and italian seasoning. Then added that mixture to the broccoli mixture- but besides that I followed the recipe. Thanks you for a great recipe!

Cinna-spin Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
This cookie is delicious! My husband LOVES cinna-buns and when I made these cookies he went nuts! A couple of tips--- Refrigerate the dough to make it easier to handle. I rolled the dough into ropes on a floured surface with the palms of my hands then pushed into the line of cinnamon and then pulled it away a little and coiled it there ( because the first couple of times I tried to pick up the rope it broke) then carefully transferred to cookie sheet. YuMmY!!!

Bottom Round Roast with Onion Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
Very GOOD! I usually make a pot roast in the pressure cooker with this type of meat but when I stumbled accross this recipe I was ready to try something new. I rubbed salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and garlic to the meat then browned it in the dutch oven- I then removed it, deglazed the pan with a little red wine then put in the onions, bay leaf and some sliced garlic. We love Balsamic vinegar so I add 3 tablespoons. I was so nervous because I didn't think there was enough liquid in the dutch oven- But it came out great!! I had a 3 pound roast and cooked it for 3 hours- kept the lid on the whole time. The meat was so tender- even more so then when I do it in the pressure cooker! I put the onion mixture in the food processor until smooth. It made a nice gravy without adding the flour. I served with some mashed potatoes. This is an excellent recipe, will use it from now on- THANK YOU!!

Apple Oatmeal Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
I just made these cookies and they are delicious. I followed the recipe exactly but didn't have margarine so I used butter instead. After they came out of the oven my 3 year old and I sat and ate a bunch of them. She couldn't get enough of them, and I don't feel guilty for giving them to her. Thank you for a wonderful recipe.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
This carrot cake was delicious!!! I have been craving a great carrot cake for a while, so when I came across this recipe I was ecstatic. I took advice from others using 3/4 c. oil & 1/2 c.applesauce, 1 c. white sugar, 1 c. brown sugar, and I also used a little more than 3 cups carrots. I baked it in two round pans and the frosting (which I only put in 3 c. sugar instead of 4c.) was plenty to frost a layer in middle and frost top. My family loved it, I will definetly make again- Thank you for a great recipe!!!

I liked this recipe a lot. It was very tasty and easy. I made 3x the sauce, and I sauted the beef and onions together. I also added a little garlic and parmesean cheese. My husband really enjoyed it-and surprisingly so did my 4 year old son(whos diet consists of PB&J and Mac& Cheese)Thanks for a great recipe!
