This recipe is spot on! I had a flat cut corned beef that was just under 3 lbs. I added 2 tablespoons of mustard seed, approx. 12 peppercorns, 2 bay leaves, and a sprinkling of dried sliced garlic. Then I added two bottles of beer and water to slightly cover the beef and the seasoning packet on top. I set the timer for the time alloted, but found out that my husband wasn't coming home on time. I just turned it down so it was slightly simmering and added potatoes and cabbage accordingly when he came home. I made the horseradish sauce mentioned in an earlier review. It was the best ever!
