Kitty Litter Cake

OMG...what a riot. it was sooooooo realistic and disgusting looking. My son came in with my gson right after it was finished. My gson (4 yrs) saw me picking at it and eating it, and lost his friggin mind! "Daddy! Gma Dee's eating cat poop!" It really frightened him. I had to hold him, show him, and even then he wasn't too convinced til I showed him how I made the poop outta tootsie rolls... He pointed his finger at me and said "Gramma, don't ever do that to me again." And btw, if you heat up the tootsie rolls really hot, to a ''wet'' consistency, you can scrape it off and it looks like the 'cat' had diarrhea.. Gross, yes but that's what this cakes all about! Just be CAREFUL. REALLY hot tootsie rolls blisters if it gets on your skin! Happy All Hallows Eve !!

Sassy Steak Spray

I doubled this recipe as we were having company over for steak & the sauce as a spray just wasn't that wonderful, but since I had made so much of it, I kept it in the frig. A week later, I wanted to slow cook a 5-6 pound trimmed brisket & wanted marinade for it. I thought I'd try this as it really had time for the flavors to blend & it had a great aroma when I re-opened it. I placed the brisket in a baking pan, made small stabs deeply (against the grain) in the meat & inserted halved garlic cloves in the slits. I did add more Worchestershire to the already prepared sauce as we like the spiciness, poured this over the brisket & covered the top with freshly grd pepper. I foiled the top of the pan tightly & placed it in the frig overnight. The next day, I took the pan from the frig awhile to remove the chill, cooked the brisket in a 300 F oven for 2 1/2 hours. It smelled great cooking. It tasted like it had been smoked outside! I set on the counter for about 30 minutes then sliced the brisket thinly, at an angle, getting little slices of garlic embedded in many slices of meat. I strained the juices from the pan & kept it warm. Everyone was spooning this on their servings! No sauce went to waste & the leftover brisket was just as awesome the next day! Will give the spray technique another try, only will make it about a week ahead of the time I'm going to use it. Thanks!

Easy Alfredo Sauce I

I had to make it twice to make sure I wasn't imagining how simple this was, and how great it tastes! I too was skeptical with just three ingreds, but am a believer now! I've used my mother's recipe for years and it's loaded with egg yolks. I'm returning mom's recipe in the back of the card files and using Kathy Rose's from now on!! We're garlic lovers so I did saute some in the butter before adding the moo juice and cheese as well as some chopped parsley at the end of cook time for visual effect. Simmered chicken breast fillet in a bit of white wine, fettuchini topped with this sauce. I knew it was good as my guys didn't even make time for conversation; they were too busy stuffing their faces!! Thx so much Kathy Rose!! Salut!

Hard Sauce

GREAT! Had made a spice cake and wanted something different instead of plain frosting. I did use confectioner's sugar and had no problem with it being too thin. In fact, I added a bit more brandy. It was wonderful topped on the spice cake and the ex-husband put some on his cheesecake (and took the rest home and PO'd the new wife...evil giggle!) Thanks for a great recipe!

Beef Bourguignon I

Wow...this was fantastic! Impressive. Will make again definitely. Who ever says it tasted like beef stew and/or it took too long to prepare must not like to cook much or did something wrong! Thanks for sharing!!
