About this Cook
I'm married with 2 children and live in Canberra, the sunniest capital city in Australia. Fortunately we can get almost all ingredients here. I have travelled widely and have cookbooks from many countries. I lived in Japan for 5 years and got used to lean food.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking with fabulous fresh produce, low fat and asian influence. My specialty is sorbet.

South African Yellow Rice
This dish was really sweet and I only used 2/3 of the sugar. I also served it with Bobotie which was also quite sweet so the combination was overpowering. Maybe it should have been 3 teaspoons instead of 3 tablespoons. Otherwise it was quite good with a lovely aroma.

I made it with lamb and it was excellent. The kids were a bit unsure of it because it is quite different to the meatloaf they are used it but the adults loved it. I cooked it in a large baking dish and the pan juices (nicely caramelised) were really good. Next time I'll use them to make a sauce.

Hearty Mince
It was as described - hearty. It was a good simple dish that was a hit with my husband and kids. I did beef up the tomato flavour which I think helped.
