Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
Since I don't have a fryer I baked then broiled these wings and they still came out great! Can't wait to get a good fryer so I can try these again.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
I keep this recipe in my regular dinner rotation. We enjoy this recipe as is, but it's also a great base for adding additional flavors to it: basil, Italian seasoning, seasoned salts, etc.

White Chocolate Fruit Tart

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
OUT OF THIS WORLD! This tart was off the charts. Everyone (including myself) was so impressed when I took this to Easter dinner. I think next time I will use the Down Under Lemon Tart crust just for experimentation. I also used the glaze which made the tart so beautiful. The prep for this recipe is nothing considering the outcome! I highly recommend trying this recipe.

BLT Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
I whipped this up real fast for a party last week and it was a huge hit. I wasn't so sure about it at first but it will now be a staple at cookouts and parties at my house. It's super simple and fast- minus stinking your house up with all that bacon frying!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
I wasn't totally wild about this sauce but I plan on trying it again with a few changes. Next time I plan on using crushed tomato instead of whole so that it's not so soupy. I will use fresh bread crumbs as instructed but brown them first. My meatballs had an odd taste. Add mushrooms, green pepper, and play around with a few more spices and add a little more sugar and it should be pretty good. I won't give up on this one- I'm an Italian cook without a spaghetti recipe!!!!!

Bella's Rosemary Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
Good however I would either cut down a bit on the rosemary or use dried. That much fresh rosemary was way too overpowering for my taste. Will make again with a few tweaks.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
Outstanding! I always add squash and zucchini though- never heard of minestrone without it. I also like to make 2 batches and freeze one for a cold and rainy day.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Didn't change a thing! It was so moist and had just the right flavor. Made this for a family dinner and I had to share this recipe with all the women in my family!

White Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
These were so good! I made a bunch of them for Christmas gifts. I dipped the top portion of the pretzel in the white chocolate, laid them out on waxed paper, and lightly drizzled milk chocolate over top. You could even use pretty sprinkles!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
These were good but I would hardly call them the best. I liked the texture which made it a very substantial cookie, but I think I'll keep searching for better.

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
I used some really nice thick chops and they turned out very moist and juicy. Normally my chops are dry and tough so I don't cook them too often. Glad I found this recipe! The saltiness was fine for my tastes but I could see how others would need it decreased- the bouillion is salty enough on it's own.

Dirty Martini

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
a few pointers from a seasoned bartender: most bottled olive brine has a strange artificial taste. i recommend using straight olive juice from a jar of quality olives. the difference between a top shelf vodka or gin and a low end is enormous when drinking a martini. save the cheap stuff for mixed drinks! start with a chilled martini glass, pepto it with vermouth, pour out excess, and mix your liquor and olive juice in a cocktail shaker of ice until ice forms on the outside. strain, garnish, and enjoy. the perfect martin!

Horseradish Sauce

Great recipe, but I add waaaay more horseradish. Perfect for burgers, prime rib, roast beef, steak, or vegetables. It seems like I'm always whipping up this sauce for one thing or another each week.

Grilled Fish Steaks

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2007
WOW!!!! This was amazing! I'm not normally wild about fish, but want to cook a little healthier so I did some experimenting with this. My husband and I were so impressed. I think this must have been one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. (From my kitchen or a pros) I used flounder and grilled over foil. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing. I'll be fixing this every week!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
I made this for a dinner party and everyone was very impressed. I topped mine with cherry pie filling and it was beautiful as well as delicious. From other reviews I recommend the following. Double wrap the outside rim of the spring form pan with foil and put in water bath. Definately no peaking in the oven and allow to cool six hours in oven. Ingredients should be room temperature and not over mixed. I used an electric hand mixer and mixed the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. The rest of the ingredients were hand mixed with a wooden spoon. Also don't add vanilla and flour at the same time to avoid brown lumps in batter.

Baked Potato Salad I

Reviewed: May 14, 2007
Amazing! I love this dish! This is more of a casserole than a traditional potato salad. Perfect side dish for anything from BBQ to steak. Instead of 1 cup mayo I just used 1/2 cup and added 1/2 cup sour cream.
