Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars IV

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
This recipe is YUMMY!!! They were so quick and easy to make! The only change I made was to use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet and melted them with just a teaspoon of shortening. Also, I used just one 11.5 oz bag of chocolate chips, which is a little less than 2 cups, but it covered the bars perfectly. They were so good I had to bring some to work so I wouldn't sit home and eat them all!

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
I usually make the white bread recipe that came with my bread machine, but it's so dense and very salty tasting. I decided to give this recipe a try and it was soooo good! It really was light and fluffy and I couldn't taste the salt. I also was worried about going against my breadmaker's instructions, but it turned out perfect. I'm excited to make it again, but next time I will just make up the dough in the machine and then bake it in the oven so it's a nicer size loaf. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Chewy Caramel

This is a GREAT caramel recipe! I wasn't sure if my husband would be a fan, but he loved them and so did I. They didn't last very long! I will definitely be making them again.

Brown Sugar-Caramel Latte

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe! I've been looking for a recipe that would duplicate my favorite coffeehouse drink and this is it! It's a great drink hot or cold, I've tried it both ways. The only thing I changed was, if I drink it cold, I add a little bit more brown sugar and then blend in the blender with a few ice cubes. YUM! UPDATE 7/8/12: I make this recipe all the time... since I've been drinking it so often, I started using 2% milk in place of the half and half and I can't tell a taste difference, it's still delicious! I bet even Skim Milk would be good in this... can you believe I actually pass up my favorite coffee place now to come home and make this instead? I never would've thought that would happen! If you use Pioneer Woman's method of making cold-brewed iced coffee (No coffee maker required - I'm hooked!!) and keeping it in the fridge, this drink whips up in a snap... my new favorite! If you want the best iced coffee of your life, you need to try this recipe!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
Great recipe!! It tasted better than most spaghetti and meatballs I've gotten at some nice Italian restaurants! I pretty much followed the directions, except I added about 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the meatballs and a tad more garlic powder than called for... they turned out amazing! The meatballs went really fast, but I still had a lot of sauce left over. Next time I make this, I will increase the meatball recipe to 1.5 to 2 pounds of meat, or half the sauce recipe.

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
These fries were soooo good! My husband isn't a huge fan of baked fries, but he even liked these! The only changes I made were to use Canola Oil instead of Olive Oil and instead of chili powder, I used an equal amount of seasoned salt. I put the fries into a plastic ziptop bag, then I mixed together the oil and spices and poured over top and mixed together. I arranged them in a single layer and then baked them for 30 minutes (I cut them into smaller fries than the recipe called for). I will definitely make this recipe again and again! Goes great with the Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers also found on this site!

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
I've never had turkey burgers before, but these were really good! I used 1 whole egg instead of 2 egg whites . Instead of the salt and pepper I added some seasoned salt and a little bit of Worcestershire sauce... soooo good! The only thing I would do differently next time is use onion powder instead of chopped onions. I normally like them in burgers, but just didn't care for them in this particular recipe. These burgers go great with "Baked French Fries I" which is also on this site. Yummy!

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Great recipe! I made the chocolate version. This recipe is great as is, but personal preference - I ended up doubling the amount of cocoa powder. As a result, I also needed to add an extra Tablespoon of milk to get it to the perfect spreading consistency. I mixed it with the wire whisk attachment in my stand mixture until it had the texture of whipped frosting. This is now my go-to chocolate frosting recipe - try this and you will never want to buy canned frosting again!

Caramel Apple Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
WOW, best caramel apple dip EVER! I used honeycrisp apples instead of the Granny Smith's because they were way too tart for me. A little bit sweeter apple went much better with this recipe. Thanks!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Love this recipe, this bread has the BEST texture! I use this recipe for cinnamon bread. I roll it out into a rectangle and sprinkle generously with cinnamon-sugar and then roll it up from the short end. I put it in a bread pan and let it raise and then bake. Much better than the store-bought cinnamon breads!!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
I have to start by saying that I come from a family who did not let a holiday pass without Stove Top stuffing. After trying this recipe out a few years ago, the boxed stuff is now a thing of the past... I never would've believed it! This is now our family's go-to stuffing recipe... delicious!! I cut an Italian bread loaf into cubes and toast them in the oven the day before. The next day I cook everything in the slowcooker, except I leave out the mushrooms (we're not fans) and some of the extra spices besides poultry seasoning & sage. I use up to 3 full cans of chicken broth (depending on how dry the bread is) and it comes out PERFECT every time! You can also prep all the veggie's the night before, so when you're busy the next day in the kitchen, this comes together so easily. If you're looking for the best & easiest stuffing recipe ever, then this is it!

Simple Maple Syrup

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
Gave it only 4 stars because, like many reviewers, I used 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup white sugar. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great! My husband loved it, and my daughter didn't complain about the change. I didn't mind the thinner consistency, but will probably try reducing it next time to make it a bit thicker. I will also try adding 1/2 teaspoon vanilla besides the maple extract and also a tablespoon or 2 of butter as some suggested. So easy to make. I agree - no more store-bought syrup for my family!

Chicken Potpie

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
This recipe is SO GOOD! Exactly what I was looking for when I searched for a pot pie recipe. I pretty much followed the recipe, except I didn't have any thyme so I used poultry seasoning and I added a little garlic powder as well. I'm not sure if I didn't fill up my pie crust enough, but it seemed to make much more filling than what would fill 2 pies! Not that I'm complaining - it was so delicious, I think I'll use the extra to make some mini pot pies as some other reviewers suggested. The only thing I would change for next time, is I'll either use less flour or add more chicken broth. The flavor was perfect, but it seemed like it needed a little more liquid at the end. Thanks so much for a great recipe!!! I will be making this again and again.

Aunt Betty's French Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
It was 10 minutes before dinner and I realized I had no dressing for my salad. I quickly found this recipe - it took no time to make and it was great! I think it would've been even better if I'd let it sit in the fridge for a while beforehand, but I needed it ASAP. Everyone loved the dressing and my husband said he preferred this recipe over the store-bought stuff. A blessing in disguise that I ran out of dressing, or I probably wouldn't have found this recipe. Thanks - I will be making this one again!!

Oven Fried Chicken III

This wasn't a bad recipe, but not my favorite. I prefer chicken recipes with flour breading and not so much thyme seasoning.
