About this Cook
I am a stay-at-home mommy to 2 girls and 1 boy, married to my best friend, and loving life. I enjoy photography, cooking and baking and finding new and delicious recipes - especially from this website! My husband and girls are good sports when it comes to trying new things, and helping me to decide which recipes go into the family favorites file or get tossed out. Cooking is my passion, especially when I'm cooking for the ones I love.
My favorite things to cook
Some current favorites are Chicken Broccoli Penne Alfredo, Slowcooker Pork Chops with Gravy served over rice, Oat Bran & Oatmeal Pancakes (the most DELICIOUS pancake you will ever eat!), Belgian Waffles, Chicken Pot Pie and Chewy Granola Bars.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sugar Cookies at Christmas and any other holiday that I have time to make them.
My cooking triumphs
Anything my family raves about and asks me to make again is a cooking triumph for me, it's what makes me happy!
My cooking tragedies
I had just put a dish of scalloped potatoes into the oven for supper. When I went to set the timer for 2 hours, I also accidentally shut the oven off (darn digital ovens, ha). Unfortunately, I didn't realize my error until 2 hours later when I went to pull them out of the oven... talk about sad!

Fresh Fruit and Yogurt Ice Pops
Delicious! I had some vanilla yogurt and some fruit in the fridge, both of which were going to spoil in the next couple of days if I didn't use them up, so this was the perfect recipe. It took me no time to mix them up and get them in the freezer. I had the banana out and ready to put in the recipe and forgot it - but they still tasted amazing. I am excited to try out different fruits. What a great summer treat to have on hand!

Coconut Oil Coffee
As written, I did not care for this was drinkable after I added 2 teaspoons of sugar to it. I am someone who likes strong black coffee with no sweetener, but when I tasted this recipe, it really hit my taste buds wrong - hence, the added sugar. I guess I like my plain coffee unsweetened but expect my "lattes" to be a little sweet :) Even with the added sugar, however, I don't think I'll be making this coffee again - which is too bad, I had high hopes for it!

Chef John's Ham and Potato Soup
Great recipe! I didn't have smoked ham, only packaged diced ham so I used that and I thought it worked out just fine. I kept everything else the same - the recipe is a winner as is! Next time, however, I think I will increase the flour to 1/3 cup so it is a little thicker. This soup made a wonderful lunch on a cool Sunday afternoon - I just wish I would've doubled it so there would be more leftovers for tomorrow!
