Caramel Apple Pie II

Used only 1/3 c white sugar and caramel apple dip. Also used a streusel topping.

This casserole was sooo good. I was actually excited for leftovers the next day. I didn't have any cream of chicken soup or salsa on hand so I substituted 1 can of chicken with rice soup and 1 can of diced tomatoes with green chiles. I thought cream of mushroom was going to taste weird in this but it really ended up tasting really great!

Chicken Tikka Masala

I added the salt to the yogurt marinade but omitted the rest of the salt according to others' suggestions. Turned out well. I really like spicy food but my brother-in-law doesn't so I took out the seeds and veins of the pepper. He still thought it was too spicy but I thought it was about a 3 on a 1-10 spice scale. This was my first crack at an indian dish and I thought it was really good. Tasty and interesting combo of spices and a good way to change up the routine. I thought the sauce was really rich so I served this over rice with some peas and next time I think I'll do a salad and some bread as well and cut back on the portion of chicken tikka on everyone's plate.

Goulash II

Creamy Potato Casserole

Usually, I use cream of chicken soup for my potato casserole-- but I think I like cream of potato soup better as this recipe calls for. One step that I don't think is necessary-- just so you don't have to dirty an extra pan-- is heating the cream of potato/butter up on the stove. It is a little tougher to mix but it still works if you just melt the butter in the microwave. I also added a little milk to get a creamier consistancy.

Honey Glazed Ham

I thought this was a really nice addition to my easter ham. I only cut slices halfway into the ham-- next time I think I might cook my ham first next time, then cut it up, then glaze it, then pop it back into the oven for a bit longer. Then the glaze can get all over every piece.

Breakfast Casserole III

I really liked this. I added chives, green pepper, and bacon. Next time though, I think I will add some cream to the eggs to make them a little fluffier.

Creme Brulee French Toast

I really didn't care for the taste of this recipe. I gave it 3 stars because my guests really liked it. I didn't add the brandy, instead I added orange juice concentrate and a little bit of orange zest.

I didn't really care for this recipe. It could be though because I didn't care for capers in the first place-- I decided to give them a second try with this recipe and I still didn't like them.

Acorn Squash with Apple

I usually only make acorn squash one way-- whipped with butter and brown sugar. I really liked the change of texture with this recipe and the addition of cinnamon and apple. I kept the nuts out becuase my husband doesn't like them. Loved this recipe.

Tofu Lasagna

I added a package of italian seasoning to the tomato sauce for extra flavor. This is a really good base recipe and a good tofu recipe for those who may not like the original texture. It does however need some vegetables or meat to make it less boring.
