About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Italian, Mexican and occasionally Oriental, and there is always take-out.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The giant turkey on Thanksgiving which had to be put in the oven at 3:30 a.m. in order to be ready for dinner at 2:00 p.m. My mother was exhausted by the end of the day.
My cooking triumphs
Tamale Pie, without a doubt.
My cooking tragedies
When the lasagne in the over heated oven caught on fire and I had to use a fire extinguisher to put it out. Gosh, I guess I had to clean the oven after that.

Noodles Marmaduke
This is a great recipe. My husband and I both enjoyed this dish. Since I work full time I am always looking for quick and easy meals. This one fits the bill. I did tweak a bit, using round steak strips for stir fry instead of ground beef, for more chew power, and added just a bit of freshly ground nutmeg and about 2 tsps of sweet Hungarian paprika. End result was yummy.

Teriyaki Chicken
This dish is absolutely delicious. The only liberty I took, William, was to add one sliced green bell pepper and a small can of pineapple chunks, drained, during the last 1/2 hour of baking time. And, very importantly for working folks, I was able to prepare the chicken in the marinade on my lunch break and then put it in the oven when I got home. This is quite economical and quick to prepare. Thank you, William

Pizza Casserole
Very, very good. I would only suggest an entire pound of ground beef, or bulk Italian sausage, and about twice the amount of grated cheese. My husband and I, and our two small dogs, really liked this. Also, this dish is quick and easy to prepare for a workday evening. Thank you.
