Buttermilk Pound Cake II

I have made this before and it it really a nice cake. Decided to make again today and added a block of cream cheese just for grins and giggles. It changes the texture and tase and is still great.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

I am an expert baker. Thought I would try this pie since I had lemons hanging around. The meringue was nice and firm. The filling was good. But when I cut into it the crust was floating in a watery mess. Dont know what else to say.

Fresh Spring Rolls With Thai Dipping Sauce

These are good! Dont let the review from another reader confuse you. This recipe states the spring roll wrappers are available in asian markets. Yes there are 2 types cooked and rice wrappers. If its available in the market then its obvious you are not dealing with the ones you have to cook! Go for it! And the sauce is very good.

Mexican Style Cornbread

I am not sure what is going on with this recipe. Firts time I made it , it was great the last 3 times it was mush. Following the recipe to a T. Even after cooking it for and hr and a half it was still mush. I even called the service man out to look at my oven! Just cant figure it out. I will be moving on to another recipe as the ingredients are getting too costly to throw down the garbage disposal. Sorry

Grandma's Old Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

I grew up in Little Italy in Boston. I knew better than to try another gravy recipe other than mine, but I thought I would try something new. I added chicken broth instead of water and doubled it because the water amount didnt seen enough. Sorry...The only flavor is from a few cloves of garlic and pork. I really had to doctor it up and its still bland. I have been making gravy for 35 years and consider myself a very experienced cook. I knew this recipe looked bland but I figured what the heck. Should have listened to my instincts.

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

I swayed away from the recipe I have used for years. Mostly just to try something new. For me I just wasnt impressed. The sauce and meatballs were very bland. I had to add more garlic and some bell peppers to try and save it. I dont get the 5 star rating at all. Sorry.. not trying to be mean or anything.It was just nothing special. Pammiee
