Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2012
This is truly the "Best Steak Marinade" ever! My husband recently got dentures and had such difficulties adjusting to them. I used this marinade recipe (substituting lemon juice with 1/3 C of wine, and eliminating the hot pepper sauce) on a rib-eye steak. I pricked the meat with a large fork, poured on a portion of the marinade over the steak and marinated the meat for about 3 hours. He really eat up his steak!!! Now I keep this marinade in the fridge for the next time I use it on steak. Thanks, Kookie, for sharing this recipe.

Spiced Cranberry Apple Chutney

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
We had invited 7 people for Thanksgiving dinner and I made this Spiced Cranberry Chutney. Everyone just loved it and I had to write out the recipe a couple of times. Since then, I have made this recipe twice and I can say this is a "no-fault" recipe. Try it -- you'll love it!

Oyster Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
The oysters I purchased were huge and only 4 to a cup, so I cut each oyster into 4 parts. I have made cornbread & oyster stuffings in the past, but none were as absolutely delicious as this recipe! I followed the directions to the letter and the 7 people we had for Thanksgiving dinner couldn't praise this stuffing enough. I did not stuff the turkey, but baked this stuffing in a 9 X 9 glass baking dish. The turkey cavities contained fragrant veggies of largely chopped carrots, onions, celery and smashed garlic bulbs. A male guest said he makes a cornbread/oyster dressing too, and challenged me to an oyster dressing cook-off. I told him I was ready when he was and this would be my recipe.

Big Germans

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
Aunt Svea was a wonderful Swedish cook. I followed her around the kitchen trying to write down her recipe for "Oven Pancakes." I thought her recipe was gone when she passed away, because she never measured. It was always "a pinch of this and a dash of that." BUT THIS IS AUNT SVEA'S RECIPE! To Jeanie Bean, submitting this recipe -- Thank You!!

Cream of Fresh Asparagus Soup II

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2006
What a rich and creamy soup!! I served this soup to my husband on a cold and rainy night, along with a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. We both loved it!! There was a little left over, and I used it for a quick sauce with a vegetable side dish the next night.

Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2006
I made this recipe for guests on St. Patrick's Day, and I had to print the recipe for the ladies. The cabbage and apple sweet & sour recipe was a big hit! Oh, I added baby carrots cut in half and diced portabella mushrooms to the recipe.
