Whipping Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2005
My mother started making this recipe over 25 years ago. It was an instant hit with the family and has become a holiday tradition ever since. She passed away several years ago and I now carry on the tradition every year making sure my father and brother are among the first recipients. (Which they basically DEMAND that they receive their poundcakes every year)! We've always put the recipe into two loaf pans, and I now make about 60 loaves each Christmas season to give to co-workers and friends. If I could give this recipe a 10 star rating, I would!

Slow-Cooked Flank Steak

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
I originally got this recipe from Taste of Home Magazine. 7-8 hours on low is way too long to cook this! We've cut it down to 3 1/2 - 4 hours on low and it comes out PERFECT! This has been a staple on our dinner table for years with this minor adjustment!

London Broil for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2012
Anything with condensed soup as part of an ingredient is a HUGE turn off for me! Good thing I found a recipe to make it from scratch that tastes soooo much better! This recipe only got a 4 because of the soup....but with the homemade, the recipe is definately a five! With the changes, It will be a repeat that's for sure!

Scrumptious Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
I only gave this a 3 star rating because it is WAAYYYYY TOOOOOOOOO SWEET if prepared with as much sugar as this recipe calls for. (And I have a sweet tooth!). I cut the white sugar to 1/3 cup and the brown sugar to 1/8 cup. With those changes, it's a definate 5 star rating!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2013
OK...here's the thing. It was easy to make. However, there isn't enough liquid in it! I woke up to a crock pot full of MUSHY GOOP. I'm sure I'll make beef stew again in the crock pot, but I'll be adding much much more beef stock to it!

Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2013
It needed more ricotta and less spinach. It's a good start....but needs definite tweaking. I'd probably use fresh spinach too instead of the frozen.

Rich and Creamy Potatoes Au Gratin

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
I wasn't too impressed with this recipe. It lacked flavor and it looked like the cheese seperated or something. I dunno. There just wasn't a creamy texture like I was expecting. I do believe I'll be searching for a different recipe for Potatoes Au Gratin.
