Homemade Shake and Bake Mixture

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
My son, who is not a big chicken eater, is giving you 5 stars on this one. My only caution is I ended up throwing a lot of this away both times I made it because of excess. The last time I cut the servings down to 4 and it was still too much for 4 large chicken breasts. I'm cutting it down to 2 next time. Easy problem to fix! Great recipe.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
I too put the oats in first and grind them up smooth before adding the milk and fruit. I have used both regular milk and soy. If using fresh fruit, just throw in a few ice cubes. I've even used a little brown sugar when it was easier to get to then my white. Possibilities are endless with this one. Great breakfast and very filling.

Mom's Amazing Italian Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
This sauce is fantastic. I have made it twice now leaving out the meat and using crushed tomatoes instead of whole tomatoes because that is what I keep on hand. I freeze it in small batches and add meat or use it in recipes as needed. Thank you for sharing.

Crispy Baked Oatmeal

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
I'm not a fan of raisins so I make this more like a cookie and add mini chocolate chips and pecans. It is a little dry, especially the next day but great with a cup of coffee or milk.

Turkey Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
This is by far my new favorite recipe! I have made it several times in the last few weeks and it keeps getting better and better! I have always used the 1.25lb package of ground turkey (not the super lean) therefor I increase the spices just a tad. Add a little crushed red pepper flakes for a little kick and its even better. I accidentally doubled the rubbed sage on my last batch and the flavor was very good. I think I will do that from now on. It's great in patties or crumble for breakfast casserole or burritos.

Beefy Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
Thought I would try this for a quick easy dinner and not only was it both, it was also very good. I used the whole package of ravioli because I used a 9x13 pan, along with additional jarred sauce and cheese I had on hand. My family thought I had made homemade lasagna. The leftovers were great in the microwave too.

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
I made a half batch of this because there is only 3 of us but the outcome was very good. The only change I made was to add a little green pepper because so many others had suggested it. Threw in a splash of Worcestershire (sp)sauce at the end for a little kick and we all enjoyed this great comfort dish.

Ruby Drive Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
Love, Love, Love this!!! I used Pace med. salsa and 1.25 lbs of ground turkey. Added just a tad more salsa and ketchup because of the increase of meat but other then that, I followed as listed and it turned out great. It had a very nice kick to it.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
My family really enjoyed this recipe. Like the others, I used pre-sliced beef for stir fry just to speed things up. One green and one red pepper added the last hour was just perfect for our taste. I did hold off on the salt but found it did need a little something so I added about ½ teaspoon before serving. I served this with rice and look forward to making it again.
