Homemade Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2014
I've made this several times and my family loves it. But in the few times I've made it, I've modified. I add chic peas, omit the potato (because they never seem to cook enough), and I add a small amount of mini shell pasta just before serving. This is delicious, nutricious and everyone loves it.

Puffs

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2014
Everything about these were good except they were way too spicy from the jalepeno. And we love jalepeno, but we had a hard time eating them. Next time, I will use a cook quality canned jalepeno with some fresh minced jalepeno. Thanks for the recipe!

Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2014
This was tasty, a little on the sweet side, but we didn't mind at all. I used 3 cans of tomatos for more sauce and didn't have the fresh basil so I used dry. I'm sure it would taste even better if it were fresh. Also, after simmering for over an hour, I took a potato masher and crushed the chunks because my family does not prefer a real chunky sauce. Will make again...Thank you!

To Die For Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
Our family loves this and I've made it 3 times prior to writing this review. I use only parmesan cheese and also add a little bit of cornstarch to thicken up a bit. It is fattening and delicious and worth it!! Thank you for the recipe.

Banana Split Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2013
Rating this 4 based on taste. It was delicious. My only drawback was the the crust didn't hold together and crumbled and the banana's turned brown very quickly. That being said, I served it with a spoon instead of a spatula and the bananas still tasted great despite their color. I will make again for a party where it will get eaten at once. I may even put in a trifle bowl too. Thank you!

Roasted Asparagus with Parmesan

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2013
Love this. I used real olive oil instead of spray only because I was afraid of drying out the stalks. Great taste and you can adjust the level of seasonings to suit your tastes. Thank you! P.S. mine took only 10 min, but I like it a little firmer.

Greek Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2013
I would have rated a 5, but I made mods based on other reviews. I used about 3/4 cup of greek dressing instead artichoke marinade. In fact, I didn't use artichokes at all only because we don't like them. I also added a bit of corn. What's easy about this is it's versatility. You can add and subtract to your liking. My family loved this, but made mods to suit our tastes. Thank you!

Chef John's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
I'm on the hunt for a great recipe for mac and cheese and so far this is the best of all I've tried. The family loved it. I used less noodles (per the video suggestion) because I wanted it creamier and not so thick. Will make again...thank you!

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
This is always a hit. I don't think the pretzel layer is thick enough so I doubled mine and it was perfect. The hints on here are accurate about not baking longer than 10 min and making sure each layer has chilled for a bit and letting the jello thicken just a tad in the fridge before adding. Thanks for the recipe. Will make this again!

Delicious summer salad. I used craisens and sunflower seeds instead of almonds and raisins. Will make again for sure this summer! Thank you.

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2012
Made as stated but doubled the sauce. Pork chops had great flavor, but were a little chewy (I think because they were fried). Sauce was nice, the teens even liked it. I'll most likely make again. Thank you.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

I was bothered by the texture and I think it needed sugar. I'm glad I tried it, but I won't make it again.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
Very good. I used butter instead of shortening though. Cookies are on the thin side, but I like them that way. I'll use this recipe again and again. Thanks!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
Very very good, but I had a few issues. I too chopped up the onions and saute'd them first because we don't like a strong onion flavor. I add 1/2 more cheese sauce like others suggested and was glad I did or else it would have been dry. I put into a large dish, more like 2 1/2 quarts and was glad I did...I can't imagine it fitting into anything else. Most importantly, it took MUCH longer to cook than stated. Next time I will microwave the potatoes first to get them cooking a bit, before I put in the oven. They were delicious and I will def make again. Thanks for the recipe.

Portuguese Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
This was very good, creamy and had a nice flavor. Next time I will use boneless chicken. The chicken is so tender that is falls off the bone into the sauce and some of the little pieces of bones ended up in there too. Thanks for the recipe, I'll make again!
