Mini Ham And Cheese Rolls
Made these for a hockey playoff party last night. They were a huge hit. Followed the recipe exactly, but also made a few with provolone cheese instead of swiss, because my husband doesn't care for swiss. Both kinds were gobbled up. I had four left in the kitchen that didn't fit on the serving platter, so I put them in the fridge over night. Just as yummy cold the next day. Very quick and easy to put together. I left the dinner rolls connected and just sliced off the tops, then I layered on the ham and cheese and put the tops back on. After baking, I just separated them into little sandwiches with a sharp knife. Fast, easy way to please a crowd!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread
I wanted to make a larger batch, but don't have two 8x8 pans. I made 1 1/2 times the recipe and used a 9x13 pan. Baked for 30 minutes and it came out perfectly. Didn't change anything else. My husband doesn't like overly sweet foods, and even he enjoyed this with our chili. It is a mildly sweet, very moist end product. This is my new "go to" cornbread recipe.

Sausage Soup
I absolutely loved this soup. I did make two l changes. I omitted the cabbage because I forgot to get some from the store, but I will make sure to get some next time. And I used fresh garlic because that is something I always have in the house. Very enjoyable on this brisk fall day. And it was very quick to throw together. This seems like a very versatile basic recipe, and would be tasty with any combination of substitutions (change up the veggies, beef or chicken broth would probably both be fine, add some herbs or spices, you could even change the type of protein used).
