I NEVER bake okay, and I've been really wanting to bake a cake/frosting from scratch. So there is a birthday coming up and I decided to make a "test cake" before the real deal. I paired this with "Pound Cake III"
It was funny sorta while making this, although it's a very easy recipe I guess b/c I'm not used to making things from scratch I was not very prepared in the sizes of my bowls. This recipe makes a HUGE batch! I ended up with one huge mixing bowl, and 3 med. size bowls FULL of frosting! hahaha
I made one of the bowls chocolate with some cocoa powder (yummy!) Half way through mixing the original batch, I had to stop and pull out more bowls, and transfer half. It was all well worth it in the end. I learned some things about baking from scratch, and i learned that I might need to upgrade from a hand mixer! I've stored the left over in a tight container, and have since made cupcakes with some of it. It held up great. Oh, yeah I had enough frosting to frost and decorate a cake (Wilton Wonder Mold), make those cupcakes, and still have a bowl left.
