Excellent! I was out of powdered sugar, so used regular sugar instead and it still came out great! Thanks :)

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
*Very* tasty pancake syrup! We used it on waffles yesterday *and* then again today. Kids and hubby *love* it! Easy to make, just be sure to heed the directions and use a LARGE saucepan unless you want to be cleaning up gooey stickiness ;) This doesn't make a THICK syrup, so if that's what you're looking for, keep looking. If you're looking for YUM factor, you can stop looking :)

Egg Paint

Reviewed: May 8, 2001
Real easy and works very well! I divided the egg and put it in separate bowls and made each one a different color - the kids had a great time!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2002
Excellent recipe! I used a whole chicken, BREAST SIDE DOWN!, but I brined it first overnight, and I think that helped the flavor a lot! (To brine chicken: dissolve 1/2 cup kosher salt in 1 gallon water, add chicken, refrigerate immediately and leave overnight.) The outcome was a beautiful looking, soft, succulent, flavorful chicken, thank you!

Oat Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2006
Yum! I added 2 tsp cinnamon and 3/4 cup of raisins to the mix and they came out YUMMY! I didn't have time to let the oats sit for two hours (6 hungry kids!) so I heated up the buttermilk substitute (1 tsp lemon juice in regular milk) just until first bubbles formed and then let it sit like that until it was time to add to the mix. Baked at 400F for 20 minutes in middle of oven. Moist, great texture, sweet enough... just YUMMY!!!!

Okra, Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2003
I'm sorry, but this came out horrid. We had never tried okra before, and so I looked for a recipe to use it in and tried this one. Maybe I did something wrong, but it came out slimy. The chicken came out bland. I may try this again with another vegetable and more seasonings on the chicken.

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
Very nice rolls, thank you! Rose beautifully, baked wonderfully, tasted fantastic! Since I was making a dinner roll, I too reduced the amount of sugar, next time I think I'll use the full amount, I have a feeling they'll taste even better! Perhaps in the future I'll try mixing in some crushed garlic with the butter before brushing the butter on.. garlic rolls, yum! Seriously, my kiddos and hubby loved these too and they were wolfed down in short time! Do what other reviewers suggested and use your pizza cutter to cut the wedges, works great!

Texas Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2002
The other reviewers must really like their black pepper :) I ommitted the cayenne because we have small children. Our family found this way to peppery for our liking, but the ribs (I used country style) came out incredibly tender and the children loved the sweetness. I may make this again but tone down the pepper next time.

Great recipe, but I found the butter & sugar bubbled out a little... Still - a very tasty and easy recipe! Thanks!

Homemade Pancake Mix

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
VERY good pancakes! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe :) I think the majority of negative reviews are from people who didn't read the directions properly and added ALL the pancake mix to 1 egg and 3/4 cup of milk. Whee.. that would cause problems. Only use 1 CUP of mix at a time. I think a bit of vanilla would improve the taste even more.

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: May 4, 2007
George, George, George. What can I say? You're the chili master! I burned my tongue a couple of times "tasting" the chili, couldn't help myself. I used 1/2 the tomato juice, and 1 large can of diced tomatoes. Other than that I left everything exactly as stated in the recipe. Served with shredded cheese, sour cream and green onions. EXCELLENT, Everyone loved it! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe with the WWW.

Cocktail Meatballs I

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2002
Excellent recipe! These meatballs come out wonderfully tender and my kids were crazy about the sauce! It was a tad too sweet for my hubby but he said it's a definite for my recipe box! I used fresh onion instead of onion flakes in both the meatballs and the sauce. Thanks for a great recipe!

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2002
This was fantastic! My husband is a really picky eater and he loved this, and so did my kids. Nice looking and great tasting! The flavor really does permeate through the whole chicken. I didn't have all the ingredients so made some substitutions: Basil - I used Rosemary Cayenne Pepper - I used curry powder And my chicken was 4½ pounds so for the last part I put it in for 55 minutes and it was tender and moist. Thanks for a great recipe!
