Mac and Cheese II

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2013
I added seasoning to this (some dried onions, garlic, salt and pepper) and there still wasn't any flavor. It was dry and now creamy whatsoever. I will never make this again.

Grilled Sea Bass

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2012
This is phenomenal. Since it is December in MN, we didn't grill it. Instead, we cooked it in the broiler for about 4-5 min each side. Seriously, I will make this again and again. Incredibly easy but definitely restaurant quality. My husband loved it too!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2012
This is the best zucchini bread receipe that I have ever tried. It is simple, but most and very flavorful. I like to add a variety of add-ins to mix it up. Tonight it was frozen blueberries!

Mom's Sushi Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
This is the perfect receipe that I have been seeking. I also didn't have the kelp but I do not need to be that authentic. :) This was easy and perfect. The extras steps in technique make a huge difference. Thank you so much!

Annie's Lobster Bisque

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
I picked this recipe because it had the more complex components such as Sherry but relatively simple. Unfortunately, I won't be making this again. I like my bisque much creamier and the ceyenne pepper was just too much. This soup is spicy & bisque is not supposed to be spicy. My husband did like it a lot but if you are looking for a traditional bisque, this isn't it.

German Spaetzle Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
I thoroughly enjoyed the recipe. I have been looking for a spaetzle recipe that I could make instead of buying the expensive stuff in the grocery store. I did use a cheap spaetzle maker that I bought from amazon and it did the job. I like the simplicity and it works well with gravy.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
I love this recipe. Traditional sage stuffing is my favorite on Thanksgiving and this fits the bill. I made it again today and received many great reviews including my niece whispering to her mom "mom, this is the best stuffing I have ever had!". I would recommend adding the chicken broth only as needed and removing the cover if it is too wet. Otherwise, we have raised the bar for Thanksgiving stuffing. Also, cooking this in the slow cooker makes the process so much simpler than traditional preparation. We had extra room in our oven and it was easy to make double the recipe!

Aw-some Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
I didn't enjoy this at all. Maybe I screwed something up but it didn't remind me of KFC at all- or maybe I just haven't been there for awhile but I won't be making this again. I like creamier cole slaw- this was too runny.

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Wonderful, garlic flavored brine- but not too much garlic. The ingredients were so simple but added more flavor than a salt-only brine. I followed the recipe exactly and it was very easy to make. We prepared two turkeys- one roasted and the other deep-fried (both brined) and they were both moist and delicious. This is the brine that we will use every year. Thank you!!!

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Awesome! So unbelievably easy and delicious. My husband will not stop raving about the cranberries and we chuckled when I pointed out that one of his favorite dishes out of all of them were the cranberries! Even my 1 1/2 year old daughter couldn't stop eating them! Will make year and year from now on.

Make-Ahead Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Wonderful addition to my Thanksgiving dinner. This took off all of the pressure off right before serving dinner. Also, it was perfect because one of our turkeys was deep-fried so we didnt' have "drippings". This is the best make-ahead gravy recipe that I have tried and will be a staple in the years ahead.

Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
This is the best pickle recipe ever. The key to fantastic pickles are to buy them small and chill them on ice for 4+ hours (I prefer 6 or 8). Everyone loves these pickles and I can never make enough!

Heavenly Hot Dog Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
Eh- This was okay but nothing that I would ever want to make again. I even added more seasoning but it was okay for its purpose.

Spaetzle I

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
This is a very authentic recipe. I am very happy with it. I did let it sit out like others recommened which I do not think was a good idea. My noodles were very small and I wish they had been longer. I did use a spaetzle maker that I purchased from Amazon for less than $10 which I don't know how I would have made this without it. I will be making this often. Thank you!!!

Very Easy Shrimp Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
This is a fantastic, simple, tasty, and classy appetizer. I do add a couple of dashes of worchestershire sauce for added flavor. Serve with scoops cornchips! Everyone will love it and this it is a lot more difficult than it is!

Zucchini Bread VII

I love this recipe! I had never made zucchini bread before and this is fantastic. I do substitute applesauce for oil and I add cinnamon (sometimes even chocolate chips). This is a fantastic recipe and I highly recommend it!

Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
This is the best German Potato salad that I have ever had! I am so happy that I made this recipe out of all of the others. I did add more bacon and was happy with the extra drippings. Thank you so much! It was relatively very easy and delicious.

Sauerbraten IV

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
This recipe is EXACTLY what I had hoped it to be. I have had sauerbraten at quite a few very nice restaurants but this recipe tastes exactly like my favorite restaurant! I am so, so happy with it. I did use the gingersnaps and I am glad that I did. I was skeptical at first but it did a great job of thickening up the sauce. Who knew! Even though this was a lot of work, it was worth it. I am so excited to be able to eat one of my favorite meals more often and at a fraction of the price! Thank you so much!!!!

Pickled Green Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
These are fantastic! My daughter loves to snack on them and of course they are great in Bloody Mary's. You can add red pepper flakes or other peppers to spice them up but I like them "dilly". I cannot wait to grow more beans this summer to make a lot more of these beans this year! I do like to chill the beans on ice for a couple of hours to make sure they are extra crisp.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
This is awesome! I am definitely going to make this over and over again! I did blanch the asparagus before and I used an herb cheese spread. Unfortunatly the first time I made it I left it in the oven while we finished our course prior and that was a big mistake! Do not overcook this. Otherwise, this dish is so easy and wonderful! Very elegant!
