J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2015
This was a great recipe. I've tried many recipes for big and fluffy biscuits, only for them to look like a flat hockey puck. This one is great. The first time I made it, I followed the recipe exactly. The second time, I used some other reviewers tips and substituted butter for the shortening and it gave the biscuits more flavor. More salt would be ok too, if you like. Also, don't pour the whole cup of milk in, it will be too much. Do like the recipe says and pour a little at a time. I'd say I used 3/4 cup of milk total.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
I rated this only 4 because my husband didn't love it as much as I did. I was planning on making tacos until I found out I didn't have any mixes, and not enough time to change dinner plans. This worked out well.

Scrambled Eggs Done Right

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
I was a little skeptical about the mayo, I normally just add milk when I'm making eggs, but this was a good recipe. This recipe isn't going to give you anything other than really good eggs, so if you're looking for something "unusual" or an alternative taste, this is only a scrambled egg recipe. It makes regular scrambled eggs really good. You can always add in anything you want. But as far as scrambled eggs, this is a great recipe.

Mock Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
This was a really good recipe. The only thing I changed was I put in less chili powder because I know my husband isn't fond of overly spiced foods. I really did enjoy it, but I will be adding less chili powder next time for my husband. This really is a good mock recipe. Very much like chicken fried steak.

Grandma's Onion Rings (Southern Style)

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
Unfortuantly, I didn't care for this recipe at all. It was very bland and bready, instead of crispy. I'd advise, if someone does like the bready type of onion rings, add some more spices to this to make it less bland. It was my first time making onion rings, and I was pretty excited about it...luckily, while grocery shopping, I bought a onion ring batter mix just in case I didn't find a recipe I liked. Sorry, but I just didn't find this recipe to be very good.

Ham and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2007
I thought the recipe was very good. My husband on the otherhand has a dislike of casserole (he's not from this planet) so he didn't like it at all. I was worried that it would be too much paprika, but it wasn't, it was just right. I also mixed some cheese in with the mixture and added some on top, it turned out well.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2005
I made this recipe for my husband since he loves them, so he's the one that actually rated it. (in his words, it was a 3 or 4) It's quite a sugary pie, unlike some (his moms is more cinnaminny) but he isn't prejudice to any apple pies! One thing though is that he didn't care for how crisp the top got due to pouring the sugary filling on top, which is what I would change next time I make this for him.
