About this Cook
I will try just about anything once, except jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. Love the outdoors and exploring it.
My favorite things to cook
One dish wonders.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sticky buns, lefse, rye or sour dough bread. Scalloped potatoes, meatloaf, liver & onions, and roast beast on Sunday. For breakfast we had Walleye and eggs before catching the school bus into town.
My cooking triumphs
Teaching my children (adults now) how to cook the dishes they like.
My cooking tragedies
Using a cooking bag for a turkey into a table top roaster oven. It stuck to the sides everywhere! My son had to scrape it off the roaster while I cleaned up the turkey so we could start all over.

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage
We loved it, flavor was great. I cooked one hour on high then seven on low. Next time I will add carrots & potatoes 4 hrs. in as suggested, yes, they got mushy. I believe four cups of water was far too much, I had to scoop out and throw out broth as it was overflowing. Maybe my six quart crock pot was too small for this (recipe doesn't mention what size her's was) and I need to adjust for that. Also, not sure what size her ten potatoes were but pounds would have been a more helpful info. Will make again with these adjustments in mind.
