Pineapple Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
Was trying to match a co-worker's cheese ball. Added chopped carrot, 1 1/2 teaspoon Lawry's salt, a splash of Worcestershire, and only 1/2 cup celery. Added 3/4 the pineapple. Trick is to mash all the juice out and you can maintain the firmer ball shape. Next time will add all 20 oz. of pineapple.

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
This was one of my Mom's favorite cakes to make--this is a really good recipe but next time I'll cut the brown sugar down to 1/2 or 3/4 cup and either half the glaze or try the cinnabon icing recipe. I'm an extreme sweet lover but this one was a little too sweet even for me without the changes mentioned. My cake was great and very moist but about half the height of a normal cake--did use a bundt pan which I like better than the 9 x 13 pan I've used in the past.

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
More yummy and pretty when you use white chocolate covered pretzels instead of plain. Toasted my pecans and with kids in mind, did some topped with M & M's too.

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
Awesome!! Delicious, easy prep, easy clean-up, easy to tweak. I always read reviews (recipes & movies) as I like to benefit from others' mistakes or ideas. Made small cookies, do not overbake, just till bottom is barely tan colored to maintain chewiness. Per review advice, added a bit more coconut, some coconut extract and a touch of almond extract w/ the vanilla. Toffee bits and chocolate chips are great additions as well. I WILL be making this recipe again---maybe tomorrow!!

Ham and Cheese Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
Great as is--but made a few tasty changes: used Haw. rolls as others. Did not separate rolls at first--kept in sections and sliced whole section horizontally till after baking. Doubled butter, mustard, Worc. sauce & Poppy seeds, added 2 T finely chopped cooked onions, and 2 t brown sugar. Spread this mixure on both inner sides of rolls. Brushed melted butter on bottom and tops and sprinkled seeds on top. About 3/4 shaved ham is plenty with a small slice of cheese on either side of ham. These were SO yummy at my party today!

Hearty Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
Seemed too easy to be so highly rated----but it was great!! Might like chicken more of a shredded texture next time. Made the tortilla strips in oven and worked just great. Will definitely make again and pass this one on to others.

Caramel Frosting IV

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
As the recipe is written, only 4 stars. I had to keep adding and adding milk (cream actually). The end result was great, creamy and very spreadable, and I will likely make it again.

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Made for Sunday lunch today---as compared to all apple desserts I've had, "just OK". Mainly, it was too dry. For me it could have also been sweeter. Didn't think that bottom layer added anything special. Not bad--just not that special.

Peachy Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
Actually I just made the caramel sauce to go with another dessert--excellent--drizzled it over apple cake and ice cream--formed a caramel "shell" on the ice cream. Just what I was looking for.

Easy, quick, & delicious--I whipped this up to top some cupcakes I cooked on a whim. Texture and taste were great.

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Perfect amount to pour over a bundt cake. Used microwave directions--perfect. It drizzed half way down the sides and looked so amazing. Next time I may try it with sweeter chocolate chips or another flavor chips--It's great

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
So quick and easy yet delish. Adding sour cream was great. Do mix the sauce with noodles to avoid dryed out ziti. I cut recipe in half for four people. Will make again!

Super Duper Easy Apple Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
WOW! Just as delicious and moist as it is easy. I'm impressed and the cake is already almost half gone. Used 3 apples and topped with a caramel glaze from another recipe on this website. This one's a keeper!

Chex® Muddy Buddies®

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
Just OK for me. After reading the other reviews, couldn't wait to try but was not "bowled over" as others were. I think alot will be left over and I don't feel compelled to share in goodie bags which is what I had planned. Not quite what I wanted, will keep looking....

Excellent. You have to stir and cook a long time but well worth the effort. It is also good and pretty with a meringue topping.

Loved it so much! I could not stop eating it. The grapes made it incredible and the recipe is a winner altogether. Will definitely make this again--highly recommend.

Cranberry Relish II

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
Very good. Unless your family is huge, you might consider cutting the recipe in half. I'm freezing part of mine to bring out at Christmas. I did add a can of crushed pineapple and loved that addition. Also I only used about half of the sugar called for and it was plenty.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

This was excellent. This was my absolute favorite dish at Thanksgiving. It is almost identical to a recipe I've used for years except for having a little less sugar. The leftovers are wonderful.

Very good. Well received by my family at Thanksgiving. It is a nice change from just your normal corn served with butter. I liked the sweet taste. Will make again.

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
These were really good. Next time I'll make them a little smaller. In my oven I did have to turn to cook more evenly on both sides. Made a simple honey mustard dip which really enhanced this snack. Very easy too--will make for Christmas too.
