About this Cook
I am the wife of an Independent Baptist Missionary to the Mapuche Indians in the Andes Mts. I have always loved to cook and feed my family different and exciting meals. No plain old every day recipes I had growing up. My mother was a fantastic cook in her very limited menus, just never tried new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pennsylvania dutch potato filling, pot pie, cabbage rolls, apple tart and shoo fly pie
My cooking triumphs
Cheesecakes, all types and flavors
My cooking tragedies
hamburger helper mixes when I was a teen

Sweet and Tangy Apple Pork Chops
Made this for lunch today. I used 6 small pork chops and there was plenty of sauce to cover nicely when it was finished cooking. The pork chops were tender and flavorful. I think next time I will let the chops sit for a longer duration for more flavor. We loved the spice combo!

Chef John's Salmon Cakes
Really flavorful, I sub crushed rice cakes for the saltine crackers and gf bread crumbs for the regular but kept everything else the same. I can't wait to make this again!
