Caramel Frosting VI

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Very yummy! I wanted to use it as a glaze for spice cookies, so I added a little more milk than it called for to ensure that it was thin enough to drizzle. It's delicious! It tastes like the inside of a pecan pie, and it goes wonderfully with my cookies. I only gave it 4 stars because it never hardened, but maybe that was because of the extra milk?

Holiday Poke Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
This is also an old family tradition, we call it Jello cake. My personal favorite combo is lemon cake, lime jello, and some lemon pudding mixed in with the whipped cream to top it off. Yum yum, I make it all the time. It has a surprisingly refreshing taste.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
Maybe I did something wrong...but I don't think so. I doubled the recipe so it'd be enough for my family. That's all the changes I made. I grated a block of parm right before making the sauce, I didn't everything right. The parm was very very gritty and the whole sauce was just completely flavorless. I'm sorry. We couldn't eat it, I had to pull out my bottle of store bought alfredo sauce. Again, I'm sorry, but we just didn't like it.

Pasta Sauce with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
I made this today with 10 sausage links and no hamburger meat. I didn't measure either. It was sooo yummy, the italian sausage really gives it an extra depth of flavor. Yum, will make again and again.

Tater Tot Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
I always brown the meat first, and back the tater tots first. Then add meat, tatertots and soup mixture. I use a mix of cheddar cheese soup and broccoli cheese soup. This is great for a simple, weeknight meal. Nothin' gourmet. :)

Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
I wish I hadn't added the milk like others said because my batter was incredibly sticky. I used chocolate pudding mix because that's all I had. I also cut the recipe in half. When they first came out of the oven they were DE-LISH but today the seemed sort of cakey. Which isn't necassarily a bad thing. I only used a half bag of mini chocolate chips, but next time I will add a whole lot more!!!

Enchilada Casserole III

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
YUMMY! For people who say the tortillas were mushy, if you're using the right tortillas (soft corn) then of course they're not going to be crunchy. I think the tortillas really added to the flavor! I used green chile enchilada sauce.

Easy Italian Sausage Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
It's an okay base, I suppose. It was really easy, but seemed to be very flavorless. I'm not sure what would have made it better, sorry.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
I just put these in the oven. The dough is very sticky but it might just be because I took other's suggestions and added some milk. I only had chocolate pudding and mini semi sweet chips, so I had to use those. They look absolutely wonderful. Yum!

Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
Yum. I didn't use a whole bottle of Ranch, but used about a cup with some mayo mixed in to cut the Ranch flavor a little bit. I also added a ton of fresh veggies (cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion). I hate green olives so I only used the black, and used about 3/4 of a block of medium cheddar. Very very good for lunch or a side dish at dinner.

Swanson® Slow-Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
I really liked this recipe. I didn't use the mushrooms because I can't stand them, and added green bell pepper instead. I served it over ziti, it was pretty good. =)

Chocolate Snowswirl Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
Very yummy! When melting the marshmallows, I guess it seized or something because it didn't look good. So I dumped it and improvised. On top of my fudge I sprinkled some white chocolate chips, then set in the refrigerator. 10 minutes later, I took it out of the refrigerator and the chips had melted. I swirled them, then put back in the fridge to finish setting up. Very yummy and rich! Also not grainy, which I totally love.

Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
Wow, I'm really surprised by some of the cruel reviews. Anyway, we make a version of this sauce and love it! I don't put nearly as many spices in, and add some browned, seasoned ground sirloin. We also don't use as much tomato sauce, and I add a can off diced tomatoes for texture. I simmer it all day on the stovetop (with meat) then serve it with thin spaghetti. I will never use Ragu again.

Cheesy Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2007
I made this and it tasted wonderful. I left out the grapes, because I didn't think that would taste very good, and my family doesn't like grapes. But other than that it was great and tasty!

Vegetable Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2006
This is super easy to make and delicous. My kids love to dip everything in Ranch dressing, but now they dip everything in this dip. Although it is great with veggies it's also super as a dip for fries. I've also put it on hamburgers. I do thhough subsitute real parsley in instead of the dry b/c it makes it more fresh tasting.
