Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
I only had dark chocolate, and the bowls were a little bigger than ramekins so it only made three. I baked for 10-11 minutes and they were perfect. This was an easy and impressive dessert.

Moroccan Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
the cardamom is weird. I inverted the amounts for garam masala and cardamom, and it was still too much, that may just be personal preference though.

Honey Lime Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
Really tasty honey lime sauce, I will make this again! I used chicken breasts cut up, breaded, and baked rather than fried and they turned out great.

We Be Jammin' Jamaican Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2007
With all of the extra ingredients - coconut, lime, and rum - I expected this to taste totally different than regular banana bread, but it didn't. The glaze was good, but I agree with another reviewer that the nuts and coconut could be left out of the glaze and to poke lots of holes in the top to allow it to penetrate the bread. Overall, it was good, but not as exciting as I had hoped.

Vegetarian Moussaka

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2006
This recipe was delicious! The preparation is time consuming, but with practice and a cusinart it can be expedited. Deviations from Recipe: I roasted all of the veggies rather than pan fry and they turned out great. I think next time I won't pre-cook the zucchini at all as it ended up very mushy. I added a little cinnemon to the tomato mixture, and I used sweet potatoes rather than regular. The leftovers did not keep very well as it all turned into mush so I will make less next time.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
How can caramel corn be bad? This was a great recipe, with plenty of room for substitution and modification. I used maple syrup instead of corn syrup - delicious; I added at least 4-6 cups more popcorn than called for - it was still very caramely; I skipped the peanuts - wish I hadn't, they would have been great; I mixed up my popcorn & caramel in a paper bag before putting on the cookie sheets - it gave a very even coating.

Broiling fish fillets is so quick, and the parmesan mix is a great complement to it. Served with some potatoes and veggies it is an easy and delicious meal.

Tropical Coconut Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
Even better than expected! Preparing the recipe as written results in a very tasty soup, there is also a lot of room for customization. My husband suggested adding some spiciness to it; I would also like to try adding some more texture after the base is pureed.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
I was unimpressed by this dish. I expected the potatoes to have a distinct flavor, but it really just ended up tasting like a batch of roasted potatoes, even after drizzling some extra honey on them while cooking - not a bad thing, but not very interesting.
