Killer Shrimp Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
I was not at all impressed with this recipe. I think it would be o.k. as a starter course, in small bowls but I doubt I will even use it for that. In all fairness, my husband and my daughter did like it enough to get seconds. No rave reviews here.

Beef Barley Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2006
This is great...lots of flavor. I was looking for something different to do with a chuck roast and this was a nice change from a pot roast. I doubled the broth and adjusted the spices and cooking time because I was using more meat, mushrooms, etc. Thanks Diane

Sausage Barley Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
this recipe was just ok. It is exactly like wedding soup (party italian wedding soup from this website) only it uses sausage instead of meatballs. This recipe is much better made with meatballs. The only thing I may take away from this recipe is the barley...I will use it on my wedding soup.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
cooking time is way too long...pork nowadays should be taken out at I believe 150 degrees and let to set for 10 minutes to reach 160 degrees. The middle should still be pink. After 45 minutes my pork chops were already 175. they were dry and overcooked. I will try this recipe again but seriously alter the cooking time. There is nothing worse than dry pork chops.

Mexican Shrimp Cocktail

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2006
I have been making a similiar recipe for several years now..I add cucumber (2 lg peeled and chopped) and tomatoes (2-3 chopped).I also add a pinch of cayenne and don't take it too easy on the hot pepper sauce or salt. the avocados (2)I add before serving. Thanks sahoney for the horseradish addition! It was what I was looking for!

Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2006
This has become a staple in my house and now both my brother-in-laws make it as well. We always season the soup with red pepper flakes and sometimes other italian seasongs...but never without the red pepper!

Seafood Lasagna II

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
I have made this several times, and it always gets rave reviews.I usually make my own alfredo, but it works just as well with store bought. I have learned to cut up my shrimp before adding it to the sauce (makes it easier to cut as well as eat) and I don't use the scallops. I buy lump crabmeat and a tub of "italian 4 cheese blend" shredded cheese from Sams/costco. One tub (4 cups)is enough if it is finely grated. This isn't cheap but it is very good.

Cajun Seafood Pasta

this recipe is great. The first time I made it I left out the white pepper and it was perfect. The second time I made it at my sisters and found it oo peppery. I now leave out the white pepper.

Libby's® Pumpkin Roll with Cream Cheese Filling

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
o.k...this is awesome. DO make sure you serve this cake cold, it makes all the difference with the filling. My mistake was making only one.

Party Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
Easy to make..I like the fact that I don't have to saute the veggies. Do however, make better meatballs, it makes all the difference. I make mine with: 8 oz pork, 8 oz. beef, 1 egg, 1/3 cup parsley, 1 t minced garlic, 1 cup italian bread crumbs, 1 t salt, and 1/2 cup grated parmesan. I also use more broth. You can't really mess this recipe up.
