Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
Made this tonight for dinner. It was good but not outstanding. Followed the recipe and took some tips from other reviews by making a sauce with this reserve marinade and cornstarch. I also put a thin layer of brown sugar to broil, after baking the salmon. Would probably make again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2013
Made this last night. Added vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg to the sauce. After reading reviews, I did step 2 before step 1. I used 4 Granny Smith apples and a store bought crust that you just have to unroll. Also I poured the sauce on top of the apples. I saved a little sauce to brush on top of the crust. I baked 55 minutes on 350. The crust blackened a little, I wasn't keeping an eye on the pie. Baked on a cookie sheet. Very tasty. The filling tastes like apple sauce but much better. Kids loved it. Will make again for sure.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
I made this tonight. I did not change the measurements on the milk and eggs. It makes enough for 2 crusts, which is great because we LOVE quiche so having 2 is awesome. Doubled the broccoli since we were using 2 crusts. Used 1/2 of an onion and added some garlic and 1 tsp of curry powder. Used sharp cheddar because I did not want to go back to the store. 1 2-cup bag of cheese was enough for 2 pies. The curry gave it a very nice flavor. Saw that on another recipe on here. It was great!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I made this last night and it went over very well with my family. I was going to double the recipe but after reading the reviews, I decided that it would make enough. I used the 1 pound block of velveeta and then added a bag of shredded sharp cheddar and used 2 boxes of broccoli. I used vegetable broth instead of chicken broth and added a little garlic salt and some oregano. I will be adding this to my winter soups!

White Bean Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
Made this last night with a leftover chicken from the deli. Used a 16 oz jar of salsa verde and the Rotel with lime like the other users suggested. Fried some homemade tortila chips and it was amazing!

Calico Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
I had this the first time on the 4th of July at a friends. I was immediately addicted to this dish. I used pinto, baked, black and butter beans.I noticed that some people said that could not find the lima or butter beans. In my store they are not with the kidney and baked beans but near the green beans.

Mexican Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
I made this last night and thought it was pretty good. 2 of my kids did not like it but my picky eater loved it and took the rest to school today for lunch. I doubled the recipe, added a small can of tomato sauce and a half cup of sour cream bc it was a bit dry. I used lime cilantro salsa by Muir Glen. Also, I didn’t feel like chopping so I used the frozen 3-pepper and onion blend.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2008
I just made this last night for my boyfriends office breakfast meeting. It got rave reviews at the office. A couple of people asked him for the recipe. I made the bread pudding with sliced french bread and golden raisins. I used half and half instead of milk. Paired it with a butter rum sauce (rum, vanilla, butter and sugar) so goooood!
