The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie

Yummm... I had extra strawberries and wanted to use them up, and this was easy and perfect. I made it without the bottom crust to save calories, but with just the fruit and topping it was incredible - I can't imagine how much better it would be with a bottom crust too! Definitely will make again and again.

Granola Energy Bars

We really like these... I chose this recipe because it doesn't have any flour in it, which many other granola bar recipes did have. I used agave nectar instead of honey and chopped walnuts and pecans instead of sesame seeds since that's what I had on hand, and it turned out good. These were a little crumbly, but had great flavor. I mixed about 3/4 of the chocolate chips in and spread the rest on top. Yum! I'm making again right now!

Banana Pudding IV

I love this recipe, and I especially love this recipe made with chocolate pudding mix and oreos. I break up the oreos into big chunks and mix in in with the rest. Yum.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Yum! And easy! And even works at higher altitude (5000 ft)! These biscuits were very tall and fluffy. I made them with skim milk and margarine instead of shortening with no problems. I also just toss the dry ingredients in the kitchenaid, and on low, I add the margarine (cut into smaller pieces) and let the kitchenaid do the work. Then I add the milk on low until combined, and presto, 5 minute TASTY biscuits.

Marinated Flank Steak

So good! I used white wine vinegar, since that's what I had on hand. I also added about 1/4 tsp cumin and coriander for fajitas, but it probably would have been good without it as well. I used a meat tenderizer (the kind with lots of sharp blades) and marinated for 24 hours. It was tender and soooo gooooood.

Chocolate Chip Cake Bars

My husband loved these more than any other dessert I've made recently. I loved them also. I happen to really like the taste of boxed cake mixes, so this was the perfect mix between that and chocolate chip cookie bars for us! I left out the nuts, increased the chocolate chips, and didn't bother putting anything on top. Yummy!

Strawberry Bread

These were really good! To make them healther, I substituted 3/4 of the sugar with splenda, and 3/4 of the oil with unsweetened apple sauce, and still it was great! It was nice and dense. I used the full cinnamon amount, and I even sprinkled the top with cinnamon sugar. Oh, and I baked them in jumbo muffin tins--12 total, about 22 mins.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

This was pretty good! Even my non-vegetarian hubby was okay with it. I was going to increase the cilantro, but decided to follow the recipe, and I'm glad I did because it was perfect as it was.

Crispy Orange Beef

Sooo good! This is better than takeout, I think, because you can control the quality of the ingredients. I followed the direction almost exactly (I just used ginger powder instead of fresh since it's all I had and I used splenda instead of the extra sugar). I only quickly stir fried the meat to avoid some of the extra fat, and it was still great. Next time I think I'll add a little hot chili sauce for a little extra zing, but it's definitely a keeper!

Cherry Pie IV

I don't generally care for cooked cherries, but I had a bunch that were going bad so I decided to try a pie. This was my first fruit pie ever, and it turned out soooooo good. It was easy, and the flavor was phenomenal.

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Pretty good! I went with other reviewers and first seared my filets and then broiled them until done. I added a heaping tbsp of brown sugar to a double batch of glaze (which I cooked in the same pan that I had cooked the meat in, while I let the meat rest on a plate), but I found it to be too sweet. I'd knock it back to under a tbsp, I think. I think it would be even better grilled with the sauce on the side for dipping.

Clone of a Cinnabon

These were very good--I made a loaf of bread out of half of the dough and rolls out of the other half. I had thought the filling would be stickier, so I might try some more butter or something inside... But the dough itself was fabulous--most doughs don't have much flavor, and this dough is fabulous! I intend to make french toast out of the loaf--I can't wait!

Ohhhhhhhhhh soooooooooooo goooooooooooooood... Tasted kinda like a funnel cake with the powdered sugar on top. I used Pam spray instead of butter to cut back on fat, and I added vanilla and a smidge of salt. Next time I may try a little cinnamon... And by next time, I mean tomorrow! I can't wait!
