About this Cook
I live in a small town, in beautiful Southern Vermont, with my husband and our beautiful Lab/Akita mix "Emma". We both love to cook and will try just about anything (within reason of course). My dream would be to travel the country to try everyone else's cooking from the East to West Coast. Hey, Guy Fieri took my idea!
My favorite things to cook
I love food so it's all my favorite! But if I had to choose, it would be desserts. I love deep dark chocolate and will bake anything I can find that includes it, or I can somehow incorporate.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday cooking in the Vermont Winter time. It's just comforting.
My cooking triumphs
When something turns out tasting great unexpectedly, that's enough of a triumph for me.
My cooking tragedies
My first Thanksgiving cooking for my parents and my in-laws. One of the wing tips of my 20lb turkey was green when we took it out of the wrapper, after thawing for four days. Called both moms in a panic, neither were quite sure if we should cook it. So my husband runs to the store to buy another, hoping for one that wasn't frozen, fortunately coming home with another 20 pounder. In the meantime my mom had also suggested calling the turkey hot-line to ask if it was ok. They said it was fine and advised what had caused it to turn green (I wish I could remember), and there we sit a few hours later with 40lbs of turkey in front of six people. Needless to say they took home leftovers, but the turkey came out AWESOME!

Easy Garden Green Beans
I didn't have fresh garlic and was a little nervous about the white wine vinegar. So after steaming the green beans for approx 7 minutes...I tossed in olive oil and garlic sea salt, topped with shredded parmesian cheese. Awesome!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf
THIS.WAS.FANTASTIC! It smelled and tasted so good. The only change was to put the coating on top as recommended by others. Will be making again!

Fantastic! I doubled the ham and added 1-2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Will be making again!
