White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
Great recipe hands down. I substituted 1.5 cups of whole wheat flour & the other half I used all purpose flour. I also added Craisins because I had no nuts available. I did not have plain rolled oats, so I used Maple Syrup flavored instant oatmeal. The cookies taste so good. Now, the cookie dough is not like your traditional cookie dough, meaning it is not as creamy. So, you need to use a little arm muscle to mix the rest of the ingredients into the mixture. Overall, the cookies taste great and they are cake like. I will be making these again in the near future.

Best Ever Brisket

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
Delicious, fall apart brisket. This was the first time that I made brisket and I was quite pleased with the end result. Very tender and it just falls apart. The flavor is good too. I highly recommend this recipe. I know I will be making this again in the near future.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
I made this pizza crust recipe twice and it is a favorite in my house. I did follow another reviewers suggestion. I replaced the all purpose flour with whole wheat flour and used 2 cups instead of 1 cup, plus additional flour when placing the dough in the pan. I added 1 tbsp Italian seasoning to give the crust an herb flavoring. I added 1 tsp of garlic powder in place of salt, 1 tsp of baking powder, and used 1/4 cup of egg substitute. For the remaining ingredients, I followed the recipe to a tee (oregano, milk, and black pepper that is required in the recipe). I prepared an 11 X 3 pan with canola spray or Baker's Joy (your preference) to prevent the crust from sticking to the pan. After it was in the pan, I baked the crust for 8 minutes. Once baked, I took it out from the oven and added my desired toppings and I then returned it to the oven. I baked it until the crust and cheese were golden in color (20 minutes or less). The results were tasty. It is a really easy recipe and I like how it does not use yeast. Also, it tastes better than store bought. I will use this recipe for a long time!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
This soup was phenomenal! I substituted ham with smoked jalepeno sausage and added additional veggies, such as carrots, peas, garlic, and broccoli. I also added thyme to my soup. The outcome was GOOD!!! We were all licking our bowls clean and wanting more. I definitely give this recipe 5 stars. It is quick and easy to fix.

Spicy Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
All I can say is YUMMY! Made this soup for dinner last night and my whole family enjoyed it. I followed some of the other reviewers recommendation of adding a neckbone or ham hock to the soup and cutting back on the salt content. I omitted the salt and increased the celery salt from 1 teaspoon to 2 teaspoon. I also added more cayenne pepper to add some spice. I must say all of the ingredients for this soup was easy to find and I had the majority of it on hand. I will definitely make this soup again. The flavor is GREAT and so easy to fix! Thanks!

Sausage Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
Great flavor, but very runny! I cooked the casserole at the prescribed amount of time plus 10 minutes more and I let it set for 10 minutes. The casserole was cooked well on the sides, but the center was runny. So, I am rebaking it. I used the Vegan sausage instead of pork sausage. The outcome of all of the flavors was GREAT! I will also try to add hot chilis for some kick next time. All in all, this is a good recipe. I will make it again, but I will bake it for a longer amount of time.

Best Peach Cobbler Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
This is an awesome recipe! I used Splenda Sugar blend in place of regular sugar, which made this recipe not as sweet. Basically, the sweetness was just right and not overpowering. Instead of scooping the peaches onto the dough, I put everything (the juice and peaches) on the dough, baked it for 1 hour and let it set for 1 hour. It was not runny at all. I also incorporated wheat flour into the recipe w/all purpose flour. I will definitely make this again! My family is wanting more!!!

This was an AWESOME recipe!! I made it when I had family come over and they wanted more. It was very simple to make and I refrigerated it overnight so the flavors would blend. The outcome was DELICIOUS! I will definitely make this again.

BBQ Steak

Reviewed: May 13, 2007
I love this recipe! I am not a big steak eater, but I have been converted since I made this. The recipe requires simple ingredients (which I love!) and it makes the steaks very flavorful! I marinated the steak for a little over 3 hours, so the flavor just popped! I would definitely make this again because it makes your mouth water!

Mom's Baking Powder Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
This is definitely a very simple recipe for biscuits! I have made these biscuits 2 ways: with shortening or with butter/margerine. When I used the shortening, it made the biscuits flaky, but when I made it with the butter/margerine it made the biscuits softer. All in all, this is a GREAT recipe and my husband loves them everytime I make them. This is a keeper!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
This was an excellent recipe! I have never made pie crust before, and so in my search to find a simple recipe, I came upon this one. The recipe was easy to follow and the ingredients were simple. The only complaint that I have was when we were rolling the dough out, after chilling for 30 minutes, the dough was difficult to roll out without having cracks. But, the outcome of the dough, was very tasty. I will definitely make this pie crust again, but I would add a little more water.

Fresh Pear Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
This pie recipe was a hit! It tasted like an apple pie, but it was not as tart. The recipe was easy to follow. The only thing I would do differently is mix the sugar mixture with the pears, since I followed the directions and sprinkled the sugar between the pear layers, it really did not blend with the juices from the pear. All in all, I will definitely make this pie again. It was very yummy!
