This was a great recipe. I did not change a thing. This is definitely a keeper for an easy family dinner.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
I found this recipe after trying a failed recipe from a book. This was a great recipe to start from. After reading many reviews, here are the substitutions I made- part applesauce/part vegetable oil used cinnamon applesauce half brown sugar/half white sugar added 8oz. can of crushed pineapple with part of the juice as needed. I also did not use an electric mixer, which may have been the reason for my first cake failing. I did divide this batter into 2 9inch rounds. This cake was so moist, and delicious. I can't imagine anyone not liking this cake!

Parmesan Roasted Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
I made this tonight for Father's Day (after seeing this recipe on Paula's Deen show two days ago). It was really good. I HATE mayonaise, but really wanted to try the recipe how it was shown on the show, so I used it. I just brushed a little on-basically to use as an adhesive for the parm and seasonings. I could not taste the mayo at all once it was grilled. The flavors of the corn, chili powder and cheese were a nice blend. Will definitely do this again. Corn on the cob is great by itself, but it is fun to kick it up a bit too!

Pecan Dijon Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
Good flavor. I had made something similar to this with orange juice and dijon mustard, so the mustard flavor did not bother me. I did not add the powdered mustard, and added a little bit more oj and honey.

Old-Fashioned Cheese Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
This was such an easy recipe. The only thing I changed was that I used mild cheddar cheese instead of processed American. The sauce is great.

Oven Brown Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
I read the reviews before making this one. I use 2 bouillon cubes-1 beef and 1 chicken and 2 cups of water. I use garlic powder instead of garlic salt. I also covered my dish with tin foil. It came out great. I did spray my dish with Pam as well. I just didn't know if this would be something that might stick! I was really surprised how moist the rice comes out. I will continue to make brown rice this way! My 3 year old usually will not eat brown rice that I make on the stovetop, but he loved this!

Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
I enjoyed this recipe, and so did my 2 year old son! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the sauce turned out a bit runny. I think next time I will use a little bit less water.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
I wasn't impressed with this recipie. I picked it because of all the high ratings. It just tasted like your basic chocolate cake with chocolate chips added to it. Will not make this again.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
This was such a great recipie. I made this for Christmas Eve, and it was one of the easiest desserts I've ever done. I made it while my son was napping, and popped it into the freezer until it was ready to serve. I did not change a single thing about this recipie, and it was yummy and enjoyed by all.
