Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
Wow. I served this to guests over ice cream with a little caramel drizzled over, and it was a big hit. I wish I had more apples right now!

Baked Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
Great, classic recipe! I only gave it four stars because I really loved Maggie's suggestion about microwaving! Will definitely make again.

Gina's Lemon Pepper Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
This recipe was a big hit when I served it to our guests last night. I only gave it four stars because I think following Allie's suggestions about browning the chicken in wine made a really big difference. Will definitely make again- thanks for sharing!

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
After reading many reviews, I decided to use a few different ingredients (meat/ cheese choices) and I added a thin layer of diced veggies. These were a little greasy at first, but still great. After freezing and then microwaving, they had much less greasiness. Thanks

Campfire Banana Splits

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
This was pretty good. The first time we made them was a little frustrating because all the marshmallow ended up on the aluminum foil. The second time we just split the bananas lengthwise on some foil and laid the toppings on, then grilled the whole thing open, which seemed a little easier. Great idea- thanks

Elegant Scalloped Potatoes

This was great! I used about 10 red potatoes and made a little extra sauce per the earlier reviewers. Heats up well for leftovers, too. Thanks

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
This is a great use of a healthy vegetable. I only had dried parsley and I added it before. I didn't really measure anything either. After reading the other reviews, I decided to cover with foil until the stirring, and this kept the garlic from burning. Thanks!

Homemade Hash Browns

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
Well, this turned out really good but I gave it a 3 because I had to make a lot of changes. First, I only had green pepper and I didn't want to use a dutch oven. I peeled and chopped the potatos and boiled the for 20 minutes, then let them cool. Then I cooked everything (onion, pepper, butter) together in a skillet over medium. Will definitely make again.

Bill's Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
Used 16 oz. regular sausage because that was what I had on hand. Still didn't look like enough grease to start with so I added an extra tablespoon of butter. This was my first time making gravy from scratch and it turned out great! Thanks Bill!

Mom's Great Green Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2006
I was hunting for a way to make a can of green beans exciting, and this didn't really do it for me. They were okay, just not worth the effort compared to just opening a can.

Cheesy Ranch New Red Potatoes

I sort of made a casserole like others suggested. I also cut the recipe in half. They turned out great, I'll definitely make these again.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2006
I never realized how much I could like pork chops! Careful on the time - you cannot just let these sit in the slow cooker all day or they end up too dry.
