Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 6, 2006
I just made these and took a photo of them. WOW! A+ for presentation. The dough was soooo easy to work with. I added 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder because I think my baking soda is too old and not working-I would have liked them to brown a tad more. Melting the butter made it so easy and I mixed the dry ingredients into the wet by hand instead of using my stand mixer. I made a big batch using a 1/4 cup measuring scoop-those took about 16 minutes to cook and then I made a regular sized batch and those took about 12. I am really pleased with this recipe so far. The real test is how they will be tomorrow. Now, if I could just tweak the recipe to make them choc. choc. chip cookies, I will be thrilled. I might try adding some cocoa powder to them next time. Any ideas?

I agree with the some of the other viewers. I like my cookies more golden and less doughy. I will keep searching....

Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2006
Hmmm. I was so anxious to try this recipe. I just made them tonight and while the texture is chewy and puffy like a brownie. The taste is sort of bitter or not sweet enough. I didn't add anything to the recipe, so maybe next time I will try white choc chips. I can see how they would sweeten it up a bit. I used semi sweet choc chips- and a teaspoon of expresso powder instead of2 tsp of instant coffee.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2006
I tried this out with 5 thin boneless pork chops and after I breaded and sauted them-they looked quite tasty, but the sauce was not very good and they were tough. I tried to lessen the cooking time to 30 minutes w/o sauce and 30 minutes with. It didn't taste like the alcohol cooked out of the wine. Next time, I might try chicken broth in place of the the wine and thicker chops.

Melt In Your Mouth Toffee

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2005
This was my first time making toffee, so I bought a candy thermometer and followed the instructions exactly and it came out great. I really kept it on a low to medium setting and cooked it slowly so it didn't burn. I also added the chocolate and nuts on TOP of the hot mixture. Thanks!!
