About this Cook
I'd rather be hiking or climbing, but I've found cooking aromas are better than any aroma candle.
My favorite things to cook
Lately, I've been using raspberries from the garden. I want to do more smoked meats.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My spouse started cooking years ago. He is all about the Oregon Ducks, so I put a TV and laptop in the kitchen. He bakes a great bread pudding.
My cooking triumphs
When my 3 children were young we had a foreign exchange student live with us who taught us some cooking. I consider it a triumph to have my spouse cook.
My cooking tragedies
After shopping, I accidentally tossed a package grated cheese in the freezer. It was fine for use when thawed.

Bandito Beans
This was tasty. I made it with venison and omitted all but a tiny amount of the green pepper. It was easy and quick and I'll make it again. Nancy

Braised Balsamic Chicken
Very good but I used half rice vinegar and half balsamic because balsamic has quite a bite. Nancy

Apple Coleslaw
I added a small amount of canned pineapple instead of pineapple juice. I did not have honey on hand but used my gourmet standby: pancake syrup as a substitute. This was good and I'll make it again--possibly adding chopped red pepper for more color.
