Cheesy Sausage Loaf

Tried this for the first time. The dough turned out perfect - although I used weight instead of measuring cups for the flour. I've made meat breads before, but not with sausage. The only changes I made were to add about 2 tsp each of basil and oregano to the cheese mixture, and to use 1 1/2 cups of an Italian 5 cheese blend. Served it with marinara sauce and salad. Dinner was well loved by all! Might try using Italian sausage next time, but with the addition of the herbs, the flavor was all there! It's a keeper!

Beer Spice Cake

This recipe was wonderful! Made with Rogue's Santa's Private Reserve and used William Sonoma's Gingerbread Man Cakelet pan - made approx. 15 Gingerbread Men Cakelets. Cooked for 15 min - perfect! So very light and ultra moist and tasty! Will try in other forms next (loaf, cupcakes) since I only have one cakelet pan! Great recipe!

Cuban Black Beans II

The best beans ever! Had to make some modifications - I used 3 cans of black beans so I reduced the water to 2 cups. I also had to omit the green pepper and pimento because I didn't have them on hand. Reduced simmer time to about an hour! These were wonderful and very versatile - they could be served with many things. The whole family agreed that this will become a staple recipe in our house! By the way, I also reduced the oil to 2 Tbsp. - much healthier and didn't seem to affect the taste or texture.

Mock Lobster

This was fantastic! Made as recipe stated, except I ran out of ground ginger so the recipe barely had any. It was a huge hit with the whole family and it is great even without the butter for those of us who don't want the calories! It's a pleaser!

Jackie's Sausage Soup

This was wonderful and pleased every picky member of the family. Made it in a slow cooker, browning sausage and sauteeing onions, garlic and peppers before hand. I substituted crushed for whole tomatoes (family preference) and added french cut green beans and some carrots! It was fantastic and is definitely a keeper! (You must keep the orzo separate to avoid it sucking up all the juice and getting mushy)

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Nut Muffins

These muffins were a big disappointment! The chocolate chips all settled to the bottom, which made it a pain to get out of the pan. They seemed moist on the outside, but they were dry and course in texture and not much chocolate taste other than the chips on the bottom. Not at all what I was looking for.

Simple Baked Apples

This was very delicious and the hit of the dinner plate! Served with rice, broccoli and pork chops, which it complemented well. I used golden delicious apples,substituted extra cinammon for the cloves (personal preference) and used dried cranberries instead of nuts and raisins since that's what I had on hand. Very yummy - I ate more for dessert! I'll keep this recipe on hand!

Best Brownies

Great recipe - thanks for sharing! Definitely recommend doubling, since they came out a bit thin for my taste. But texture and taste was perfect! Oh, by the way, I didn't bother with the frosting - adding some chocolate chips was enough!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

I use this website all the time - but rarely get time to leave a review. This recipe was FANTASTIC! I only had 1 1/2 cups of frozen blueberries and didn't even thaw them much to avoid purple batter. Muffins definitely need to cool in pan for a while due to crumb topping, but they all came out without breaking. The most delicious muffins we've ever had!

Oven Roasted Potatoes

These were delicious! They are a perfect side dish for just about anything. I also added some frozen seasoning blend (diced onion, pepper, and celery) to the recipe which gave it extra flavor. My husband and I gobbled them up!

Cookie Balls

I had heard rave reviews for this recipe, both at this site and in my community and I have to say I'm not entirely impressed. The cookie dough, even if chilled overnight, stays very moist. The white bark is still fairly thick when melted and because of the heat, your white bark ends up speckled with oreo crumbs by the end of the process. Also I haven't figured out how to neatly remove them from a toothpick or lobster fork once dipped so they don't look too pretty when completed. I always thought I was a decent cook...
