This recipe is ok. I would have prefered a thicker gravy.

New Orleans Corn Bisque with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
OMG!!! This is the best. I am living with a poor man's kitchen so I had to improvise. I used a combination of green and white chopped onions, Green Giant Corn Nibbletts with Butter Sauce (frozen), Spicy Smoked Sausage Links, and New Potatoes. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly as written. The results were really good. However I think I will saute the sausage first and add more corn.

Bourbon Street New York Strip Steak

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
I did not grill the steaks instead I cooked them in the oven. I added just 1/4 cup of bourbon because I think that bourbon has a strong taste. I used 1 1/2 cups of light brown sugar. Additionally, I added 1 tablespoon of worchester sause and soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of parsley flakes and onion powder. The results were tender steaks with a sweet (not over bearing) taste. I will use this recipe again but I will decrease the brown sugar.

Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
Turned out good but I will decrease the amount of bourbon or use vanilla flavoring next time. I am not a drinker so it seemed like I was tasting a small amount of bourbon. I increased the amount of (dark) brown sugar and soy sauce to mask the taste. I also used diced chicken strips.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I added flour and chopped onion to the meat mixture. I rolled the patties in flour to keep them from breaking while cooking. After browning I put them in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes. Be sure not to put patties on top of each other.

Excellent recipe and easy to make. I used chicken fajita strips. I covered the strips with flour and minced garlic seasoning before following the recipe. Afterwards, I mixed the strips with fettucine and added alfredo sauce. The dish got rave reviews.

Bacon Feta Beans

My family really liked this recipe. This was a terrific change from plain string beans. I had to adjust the timing for the beans to cook but I will definitely make this again.

Pasta e Olio

I made this recipe exactly as stated but it seemed to be missing something. It was very bland and dry. I added more pasley and oregano leaves; the taste was better. I won't be making this pasta again!

Traditional Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
I would definitely use this recipe again. I would add McCormick Salt and Spice Seasonings to the meat mixture next time. I did not add bread crumbs and the gravy ingredients. I used Heinz Homestyle Savory Beef Gravy instead with sliced mushrooms and onions. I fried the onions and mushrooms in the skillet with salisbury steak patties for about 2 minutes. Then drained most of the grease and added the gravy.
