Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

I followed KAJEWSKI's suggestions for the marinade and was delighted. I loved the ginger flavor and will make this one over and over again.

Shrimp and Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
I made the mistake of reading the reviews and doubling the sauce. BIG MISTAKE! It turned into a pastey mess. I did sub the Chinese black vinegar with balsalmic vinegar, but I can't imagine that causing the problem. Next time I will try this according to the recipe and see how it turns out.

Buttermilk Pie III

What a pleasant surprise! The best way I can describe this is a cross between creme brulee and custard pie. Everyone loved it!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
All I can say is "WOW"! I followed the recipe, except, I used one 14.5 oz can of drained whole peeled tomatoes and chopped them up with the spatula in the pan, one 14.5 oz can of drained diced tomatoes and added about 2 tsp of Italian Seasoning since I didn't have the can of tomatoes that the recipe called for. I didn't do a great job of reading the recipe so I ended up simmering the tomatoes with the sausage/onion/garlic mixture for awhile before adding the cream. Long story short, this is absolutely one of the BEST recipes I've found on this website.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
Yes, they are to die for! I didn't use the topping because I didn't want to overload my kids on sugar and they are still sooooooo good!

Chicken Biscuit Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
Wonderful, rich, and perfect for a cold winter night! I subbed some frozen corn and fresh broccoli, as I didn't have any carrots on hand. I'm guessing you could use about any veggie in this recipe. Good stuff!

Old Fashioned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
Decent, but not the best I've ever had. I would suggest letting the eggs sit 5-10 minutes longer because the yolks in eggs I made were just barely cooked enough. I used chopped dill pickles instead of sweet pickle relish and added some dill. Still, not the best I've had.

Creamy Skillet Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
I've never had better frozen corn! I used onion, as I didn't have shallots and half and half instead of cream to lower the fat content. Served it with smoked pork ribs and potato salad. Yum Yum!

Sherry Apple Pork Chops

This was a wonderful recipe. I followed the recipe, except only used 3 pork chops and added the extra 1/4 cup of sherry with 2 Tbsp of cornstarch as recommended in the reviews. I will definetly make this one again!

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
Per other reviews, I marinated the chicken in lemon juice, fresh garlic and the herbs. I followed the instructions from there, and thickened the sauce by making a roux with the drippings. The flavor of this dish was incredible! I loved the saltiness of the capers in combination with the tartness of the lemon and dill and the creaminess of the sauce. I think I've only ever given 5 stars 3 times before. This recipe is definetly worthy of the highest rating.

Easy Paella

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
This may not be "authentic", but my whole family loved it! I followed the recipe exactly. I am lucky enough that I live in an area where the Basque population is high so I was able to use authentic chorizo made by a local distributor. This dish is definetly company-worthy.
