About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Italian food and have a knack for coming up with original dishes. I also enjoy making soups and stews during the winter. During the summer I will try to grill anything I can get my hands on.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year for Father's Day I cook a special meal for my husband, father and father-in-law. I usually research recipes for months prior so I can come up with the perfect meal. For the holidays, everyone request's I make "Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole", which is a recipe I got off this site.
My cooking triumphs
Beef Wellington, as found in "The New Basics Cookbook". It tastes incredible and has an outstanding presentation.
My cooking tragedies
The only serious failure I've had was a Vodka Sauce recipe I got out of my "Frugal Gourmet Cooks Italian" cookbook. It came out soooo boozy. I'd never cook this dish again.

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs
I followed KAJEWSKI's suggestions for the marinade and was delighted. I loved the ginger flavor and will make this one over and over again.

Shrimp and Peanut Butter Noodles
I made the mistake of reading the reviews and doubling the sauce. BIG MISTAKE! It turned into a pastey mess. I did sub the Chinese black vinegar with balsalmic vinegar, but I can't imagine that causing the problem. Next time I will try this according to the recipe and see how it turns out.
