Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2013
These fries are soooo good!!! Made as directed except I didn't soak them in water, just scrubbed, cut and battered them. The batter stuck very well and they just pan-fried right up!! They taste like crunchy mashed potatoes, and I mean that in the very best way! Thanks for the recipe. My son wants these fries from now on, no store-bought for him anymore! I would suggest really letting the batter drip off before placing in the pan. My first batch had TONS of batter that dripped off the fry but was still connected. Still delicious, but they looked a bit scary.

Made this tonight, but didn't have tomato paste. Added garlic powder and cut to 1/4 tsp cinnamon, and my whole family liked it! Can't wait to try it with all the ingredients:) Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Puffs

Love this recipe! I used leftover turkey and didn't have garlic, but it came out great all the same! I ended up cooking them for about 28 minutes to get the dough nice and crispy. Thanks for the recipe!

This is so easy and delish!! The only change I made was using Muir Glen diced tomatoes instead of the italian-style. Thanks so much for the recipe!!!

Mom's Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Delicious! I followed the recipe except for using all brown sugar and subbed light butter with canola oil for the regular butter. I read another review and cooked for 8 minutes to get a gooey cookie. Thanks so much for posting!!

Whole White Wheat and Honey Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Really GOOD! I altered the recipe a bit, but I'm sure that I would have loved the original too. I used about 3/4 cup of Land "O Lakes light butter, substituted agave nectar for the honey, and used 1% milk instead of powdered. Oh, and I used egg substitute instead of whole eggs. I will be making this again! Thanks so much for the recipe!!

Swiss Steak Quick and Easy

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
Yummy! I cooked the mushrooms and onions first, then added the steak and browned it. Didn't use flour so I added two packets of brown gravy instead of one. I loved it, my 10 year old gobbled it up, my 11 year old picked but really liked the noodles. He doesn't like anything, so I don't rely on his vote... I made peas and corn separately on the side (picky boys) and mixed them in with mine. I think I'll add them next time! Thanks for the recipe!!!

Black-Eyed Peas and Tortillas

My husband & I really liked this one! I used water instead of veg broth, and I put a couple of spoonfuls of real bacon bits & some chopped up cooked chicken in to simmer. Thanks for the recipe!

Kickin' Collard Greens

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
Loved this recipe! I did three things differently -- I put 1 Tbsp. Hormel real bacon bits in with the onion and garlic instead of using bacon strips. Cut down tremendously on the fat, and still tasted great! I used frozen collard greens instead of fresh. Also, forgot to put the red pepper flakes in, but the amount of black pepper made it nice and spicy! We didn't miss it, but I'll try it next time! Thanks for the recipe!!

No Frying Eggplant Parmesan

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
My husband and I love this. No grease, and so yummy! I used eggplant & zucchini, and put some peppers & onions in the oven while the other veggies were getting toasty. Layered it all with sauce (about two jars) and mozzarella cheese. Hubby doesn't like parm cheese. Still wonderful! Thanks for the recipe!

Grilled Chicken Thighs Tandoori

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
Followed the recipe spices exactly. Smells wonderful while cooking, and they taste delicious! I baked mine in the oven at 350 degrees/40 minutes in a broiler pan, and didn't bother spraying with oil because thighs have enough fat in them to keep them from sticking to anything. I will make this again for sure!

The Amazing Swedish Meatball

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
I made a bigmistake while preparing the gravy: I picked up my nutmeg instead of my paprika. The sauce was still good, but I think it would have been great with the paprika! Loved the meatballs! Thanks for the recipe!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
I loved the recipe! I only salted the flour and didn't use the breadcrumbs because my kids won't eat anything breaded. Made sure the pan was nice and hot and cooked 5 min on each side. Cut the oven cooking time down a bit because I preheated to 375 by mistake. I put the mushroom soup in the pan that I used to sautee the chops in, that way I got all the good crispy bits in the sauce. Used 1/4 cup white wine and 1/4 cup sherry with the milk. I just love the way sherry adds so much flavor! Anyway, I will be making this easy and delicious recipe again! Thanks for posting it!

Hamburger Soup III

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
I just posted this review under Hamburger Soup IV! Oops! This is the recipe that I made last week and LOVED! I didn't have carrots so I didn't use them. Finely chopped the onion and sauteed with beef. Threw in frozen green beans and some chopped celery. Used a big can of whole tomatoes, which I chopped up before I threw them in. I used potatoes cut into small pieces and small pasta. It tasted so much like the Chunky soup that I made small hamburger patties to use in it this week!! I'm also going to use some cornstarch to thicken it up a bit, because the more it resembles the Chunky Hamburger soup, the more my kids will eat! Thanks so much for the recipe!!!
