Buttermilk Syrup

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
This stuff is fantastic! Definitly make sure you use a very large sauce pan since this syrup boils up pretty high.

Simmered sauce for about 30 minutes vs. entire 1 1/2 hours. Used uncooked lasagna noodles for layers and cooked for 45 min-1 hour and rested for 10 minutes. Turned out perfect.

Reduce Cayanne to 1 t. for more reasonable spice level. Love it otherwise and have made it many times.

Morning Glory Muffins I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
Very good, I cut the recipe in 1/2 and pulsed the carrots in the food processor. I upped the raisens by a 1/4 c. on the 1/2ed recipe and also still do 1 full egg and then 1 additional full egg instead of just the egg white. Excellent this way, also used applesauce as others had mentioned vs. applebutter. For those who wanted more batter the extra egg should help with that. Also didn't have wheat bran so I made a streusal of flour, butter, brown sugar and pecans. Excellent!

Good, added 1/2 T. roughly of minced garlic. Next time will try a Panko crust on top to give it a bit more crunch.

Fennel Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2014
I followed some of the other suggestions: added some diced potatoes, blended about 1/2 of the soup to create a more creamy mixture. I also added about 3/4 of a lb of sauteed loose mild Italian sausage at the end for extra flavor. A great meal, easy, cheap and tasty.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2014
Followed other recommendations and reduced water by 1/2, tossed apples in the brown sugar/flour/cinnamon mixture instead of sprinkling on top, added a 1/4 t. of nutmeg to that mixture as well. Lastly cut in butter instead of melting at recommendation of others. It was AMAZING. Seriously I could eat like 3 bowls full.

Dump Cake IV

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
Super easy dessert. As others said it is more of a cobbler than a cake but still tasty, especially with some vanilla ice cream. I did melt the butter to just pour on as others have mentioned. Also about 15 minutes from end of cooking added some shredded coconut on top. Delicious!
