About this Cook
Haha, why would anyone want to know more about me! Well, I'm a med student who cooks to survive. My mom and dad taught me to cook when I was younger so I didn't need a sitter, by the ripe old age of 18 I could cook anything you wrote instructions for! Question is: will it be good?
My favorite things to cook
Secret beef stew, tuna casserole, satay, Thai food!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Grilling, BBQ
My cooking triumphs
Secret beef stew... is my homemade recipe!
My cooking tragedies
I nearly set my kitchen on fire when I first figured out my stove had the "broil" feature :( Although the casserole tasted like it had been smoked! Yummy.

Sweet Potato Pie I
How delicious and simple! Just for time's sake I subbed out the fresh sweet potato for a large can (I mean large, it's almost the size of a new born child) of Bruce's yams in syrup, drained well you can just throw them in the mixer before the other ingredients and get them to a puree consistency. I double the vanilla and add 3/4 tsp FRESH grated nutmeg. This recipe has made my grandfather stop eating grandma's sweet potato pie, I might be in trouble! Thanks COUGAAR!

Even though I changed this to my tastes, the recipe has great bones. I like mine with a little more lime so I usually buy two, also I add some fresh ground sea salt, 1/2 c. sour cream AND... a half a habanero. Perfect!
