Sweetly Spiced Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
This sounded so good, and what few reviews it had gotten were all good. I didn't like it much at all. I love squash and pork, but their flavor was completely overwhelmed by the spices. It was like having potpourri for dinner. Might have made a good salsa, omitting the squash, for a whole pork tenderloin.

German Apple Pancake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
I can't convey in words how much I enjoy this recipe. First time I made it I was expecting more of a cake, but what it turned out to be was better than any regular apple pancake imo. Easy to make, and impressive when making for company.

Ginger Glazed Chicken with Pineapple Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2006
I really don't like sesame seed. Even after reading the reviews that said the recipe calls for too much sesame seed oil, I decided to be brave. I wanted to see how the recipe was supposed to taste first. To my surprise, it was exquisite - no overwhelming flavors at all. Even my grandfather, who doesn't seem to like anything anymore, devoured this! If I was to change anything, I think it would be to add a bit more ginger and make extra pineapple salsa - yummy!!

Raw Apple Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2006
Everyone ***loved*** this cake! It was so easy to make and so scrumptious. I do think that the cream cheese frosting, though delicious in itself, is overwhelming for this cake, although my son and aunt totally disagree with me. I plan on making this recipe very often.

Boston Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2006
This was delicious! I used parchment paper to line the bottom of the cake pan and let the pan cool before attempting to remove the cake. Slicing the cake in two was alot easier than I expected. I also found Robin Gail's advice (in a previous review) about cooking the filling very helpful. Very tasty - I will be making this again!
