One Hundred Thousand Calorie Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
This has been a favorite at our house for over 20 years and is now a favorite for the next generation of our family. I bake the bottom layer 10 minutes. You can use a toothpick to help spread the globs of the second cake layer on top of the caramel.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
The turkey/pumpkin combination is a great idea and our family doesn't eat beans so there are positive things about this recipe. However, the chili is very thick so I added a can of chicken broth and 6 oz. tomato juice. I also added 2 tsp. cumin and more chili powder.

So easy and tastes so good. I didn't peel the apples. Great as a side with pork.

Pork Chops with Fresh Tomato, Onion, Garlic, and Feta

An excellent way to use the fresh tomatoes and basil that are in season right now. I will be putting a star on this recipe card as a reminder of the delicious way to cook pork chops.

Low Fat Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

This is better and healthier than any store bought buttermilk ranch dressing. It's a "keeper" in my recipe box.

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
This is a recipe that has been around for years. People used to eat sweeter desserts than they do today so that is why many of us want to cut back on the sugar in this apple crisp. I mix the sugar (half brown) and flour together then cut the butter in the dry ingredients with a pastry blender. It is crumbly when it goes on the apples and makes a nice topping.

Banana Wheat Bread

These are delicious and healthy. I use 2 cups of banana, 1/2 c. applesauce for the oil and make about 4 1/2 dozen mini muffins. Bake 15 minutes
