Super Mom and Martha Stewart of the block -- that's what they call me. I have three kids (ages 8, 6, and 4). I've been married since 2000 to the most amazing man on this planet. And, I LOVE to cook! I love to cook so much that I started a cooking class for kids: Kids in the Kitchen with our local MOMS Club! This NJ Chick refuses to go out to dinner to about 90% of the local restaurants -- why go out when I can cook better at home? Check out my blog: http://veganversions.blogspot.com
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are: vegan recipes and kid fun and friendly meals! I love to experiment with food and enjoy helping others who are culinarily (sp?) challenged! :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have cooking night at our home once a week with the kids. The kids LOVE when they hear the Kitchen Aid mixer going -- it means something yummy is going to be coming soon -- and they can lick the bowl! My other favorite tradition is lobster for Christmas Eve!
My cooking triumphs
The best triumphs are: (a) when you try a new recipe for a crowd of people and it's fantastic and (b) when you have nothing prepared for dinner and whip something up with your left-overs and it's an instant hit -- not that you could ever duplicate it again!
My cooking tragedies
My most memorable cooking tragedy was a crab recipe I made for my husband (we were not yet married). I served him, he ate, then I sat down to serve myself. I took one bite and said: This is horrible. And he immediately had a look of relief on his face because he did not like it either, but would have eaten a portion of it just for me! What a guy!
