Southern Pecan Pie I

Reviewed: May 28, 2006
Delicious! Delicious! Even good when you miss a few ingredients, substitute pecans if you'd like and it will still come out delicious. A great recipe. Just remember to let it sit for a few hours before cutting it, it will settle. Also, wait until the center does not jiggle before removing from the oven.

Gooey Butter Cake III

These were the hit of the afternoon! The husband loved them and asked for me to bake them again. These were a definite hit among not only him but also the guests at the tea party.

Brown Sugar Cookies II

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2006
Makes a ton! Great even without adding M&M's (as a chocolate hater and person with nut allergies I like these plain). I prefer this recipe over any cookie recipe I've ever made. This recipe is a hit!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2005
Note: You need to know that this cream cheese frosting is for the person that wants a REAL cream cheese taste, as if they were eating actual cheesecake. This is not a sweet, sweet, sugary frosting. This is a cream cheese blessing! Not the kind you find in the container in the grocery store. This is homemade, amazingly delicious, cream cheese frosting!

Best Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
Amazing! Sweet, and buttery! A great frosting for yellow cake! You can make it thick or thin. EDIT: Try refridgerating this, I just left mine in the fridge for a few hours instead of 30 mins. and the consistency came out more like a frosting.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
This cake is moist, soft, delicious! I didn't have a cup of shortening and I didn't even cream it correctly with the sugar and this cake still came out delicious! Most, very thick, southern style cake is what this is. Not the average thin, fluffy, box cake. This is the homemade tasty thick cake your mother made. This is a kepper! The edges might be crisp but this is a keeper with some buttercream frosting!

Old Fashioned Cream Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2005
I had ok results with this. I had some ups and some downs. For the ups, this pie recipe made TWO pies insead of just one. I was excited about that. The other up is the flavor, it's rich and creamy just like ice cream. But the down side was that when cooking, I had trouble with the pie browning too quickly and not settling like I expected. So be careful and watch it (them) like a hawk. But the creamy flavor outweighs all! it's delicious. I added vanilla extract to my pie for a bit of vanilla flavor. A great addition, if I must say so myself. I also added my cinnamon into the pie instead of on top of it. So overall, this recipe will yield you two rich and creamy pies.
